Hello, I am writing becuase I saw some aphex cd's in HMV in Basingstoke. In the mall outside the train station.
They were baby sized CDs, and they had cheap little covers. Cost about £7 each, there were about 3 0r 4 different ones to choose from. I went up and spoke to the guy at the till about them and he said they were official warp stuff. Just released small scale. I am going round there to buy all of that stuff next time I am there. One of them had something written on it along the lines of "Because you don't give a shit and neither do we"
Anyone know anything about these things. Guy at the counter said these things were too difficult for him to handle, his words were "very weird", "for the more hardcore fan", "experimental".
Has anyone heard of these little CDs??

SATAY FAR FAR AWAY! Those v/vm HELP cds are garbage. not on WARP and definetly not aphex. theyre remixes by one or more persons that are terrible. DONT BUY THEM! instead, go back to where you saw them and tell the guy to stop lying to his customers!

Are you sure were talking about the same things tho. One of the ones I saw had the I care because you do painting. It was printed in yellow and no other colours used.
God damn I am really dissapointed thought I found something cool there.

Yeah, I've got the blue and red ones "We don't give a shit..." and "...Because you don't give a fuck", respectivley.
They are by v/Vdm a label that just rips off and fucks up music. All their stuff is like it. None of the tracks on them are as good as the originals, I didn't know there were 4 though...

I dunno . . I think they're pretty good for a laugh. The third version should be out here soon; supposedly combines parts of the first two and throws in a couple of new mixes.
Granted, for entertainment value I can't see anyone but Aphex fans getting anything out of them, but since I am a fan they're interesting little novelties. And congrats to V/VM for the not inconsiderable feat of making "Ventolin" even harder to listen to than the original.

I saw them in Sisterray, Soho. Not Aphex definately, despite the aphex-sounding titles

Ceri JC: I might be wrong about the number of them I was only inthe shop a while mate and they were all in great big transparent boxes. I was travelling towards the fattest shottie session of my life, which lasted approx 4 days, I went for 2. My memory got put in a frying pan, tossed, fried, scrambled, thrown against a wall, stamped on, and then put back in my head all messed up. So I can't say I remember anything concrete from around then. Can you tell all those like myself (who will probably never pick these things up) what they sound like?
Thankyou.

If you like, email me your email address and I'll get in contact then put them up on morpheus for you to download.
They sound a bit like very chaotic (no constant BPM) early aphex twin stuff. They are remixes (if the can be called that) of his better know stuff and singles. They are all plays on the word of the original eg.
WinduckyQuaker = Windowlicker
Come to big daddy vs giant haystacks = come to daddy
Hoe-gardden slop itch = Logon rock Witch.
Quite amusing in a RDJ impish kinda way.
The music isn't very good though. Hard to listen to, but unlike drukqs, it doesn't get easier over time.
