I'd like to have a definitive answer... the track At the
hearth of it all, it's a total creation of richard d. james
or a remix with some NIN samples?

\/\/.

It appeared on a Nine Inch Nails album. It was originally
meant to be a remix Aphex was supposed to do, but instead he
produced a totally new track and gave that instead.

at the heart of it all and the beauty of being numb were my
intro to rdj and the rest of the music world i inhabit now.

and that shortened version on 26 mixes is utter crap. i'm
guessing it was done for time constraints, i don't know..

At the heart of it all is on Further Down the Spiral, so is
the beginning part of The Beauty of Being numb

FACT
this track is composed entirely from noises and samples from
the downward spiral. it is a remix of the 'album'
same goes with Beauty Of Being Numb.

At The Heart Of It All - is all Aphex Twin
The Beauty Of Being Numb - is Aphex Twin and Trent Reznor
(NIN) together pretty much.

The Beauty Of Being Numb - is Aphex Twin and Trent
Reznor (NIN) together pretty much.

that's funny. the liner notes explicitly say that section a
was recreated by nin and section b was created by aphex. i
don't think there was any kind of collaboration.

and you may also notice that aphex's tracks are the only
ones that say 'created by' as opposed to 'remixed by' or
'recreated by', with the exception of tracks 1, 4,
6, 8 & 10.

track 1 says 'produced by', and the rest don't specifiy,
they just list the persons that worked on them.

on my copy of "further down the spiral" at the heart of it
all is "created" by aphex, whereas all the other tracks are
"remixed" or "recreated" by various people

richard mentioned that he had not heard any nine inch nail
material, and doesnt listen to them, but it fits perfectly

i specifically remember afx saying in an interview that he
would like to tour with nin, but since they werent touring
at the time of the interview, he obviously wasnt going to
then. but hopefully soon, maybe for the tour to promote the
new nin?
