I have to discuss the differences in meaning behind Robert
Smithson's "Spiral Jetty" and Jean Claude and Christo's
earthworks, such as "the Running Fence." for an art test.
Can anyone help me out here? I didn't write these down in my
notes and haven't been able to find anything on the internet
yet. Though I'll keep looking, I just wanted to put it up
here too for the meantime. Thanks.

smithson uses the earth and natural evioroment for the
pieces, ie uses the rocks and soil in his works by moving
them about into a different formation much like scupture,
christo uses the earth as a canvas onto which he does his
work, ie surrounds a building with cloth, bulds a fence that
reaches from miles inland towards the sea...

as for Jean Claude, i've never heard of him... i know a bit
more about the first two but you should have asked the
question diffrently...
