Ultima Thule is the name that an Irish munk, Thomas Aquinas or something (I think it was about 600-800 A.D. if I recall), gave to an island up in the north where the sun almost didn't go down in the summertime. It's been said that this island was Iceland but it could as well have been the Faroe Islands I think, although they're not a one big island.
