Yeah, I love this album so much. I have no idea why it isn't regarded as a classic by most folks. Bola-Soup and Autechre's debut are my two favourite dreamy IDM albums.

The floorstanders were just under £400 if I remember rightly and the other were around 100, I have them set up of a pair of gale stands so they're the same height as the 908s

I was going to buy some other speakers with awesome phat bass (and significantly cheaper) but then I demoed the 908s for a day (took most of my CDs along) and totally fell in love. Such clarity! For electronica they're incredible

Bola Soup Review : Why are they such bitches over there a... Maybe it's a Howard Stern strategy. You annoy people so much that they can't help but come back to see how they'll annoy you further

The reviewer drops a few 'new-age' artist names in there. I might not agree with the whole review (by the way - 7.9 is very good according to their scale) but I do agree that Soup has a new-age feel to it. Fyuti seems a lot more original to me.

I like both bola albums! In soup you feel like an astronaut outaspace somehow, and in fuyiti (?) the sounds are coming closer to early ae albums, not so experimental, but it sounds as a whole very liquid.
Good buy :-)

i love soup, great record, but the rerelease didn't really sit right with me. i love the artwork michael england has done for skam, but the soup artwork seemed rushed, and no where nearly as cool as his other stuff. honestly..i'd take the original artwork over the new stuff -- atleast it fit the time.

One of my favorite albums ever. Unabashedly beautiful and spacey, like some of the best 70s prog rock by Genesis and Yes.

I don't like it as much as Fyuti, that one's more focused... but I can say that about 99.999999% of all albums so there's no shame in finishing second to that.

i put this right up there with some of my fav electronic releases, as this does have a classic feel to it, but somehow it avoids sounding dated (released in 98, i almost dont believe that as it sounds like 95-6ish stuff)
