I bought Come to Daddy EP

Frag from nj on 2001-11-25 06:08 [#00055354]

Very nice but...

What the fuck is wrong with Mister RDJ? Some screwed up
shit. How is Little Ford Faulteroy a mix of Come to Daddy at
all?

You are learning to fundamentals of the rephlex. A re-mix
often has nothing to do with the orginal.

I like that... it makes an album out of an EP... I consider
Come to Daddy an Aphex Twin album, because it's all
different songs, rather then a EP of remixes, each only
slightly different from each other...

the remixes are NEVER remixes, except in the case of ON and
VENTOLIN. he might use some of the same samples, but they
never really sound similar.

Little Ford Faulteroy a mix is good!

the remix of To Cure a Weakling Child on Come to Daddy does
sound similar... uses the same sounds and stuff, but it's
still not that close to the original... and it's still
good...

erm, little ford faulteroy mix? nice name.
although i prefer the little lord faulteroy mix. the ford
mix could be used in an tv ad for cars or something one day.
afx could earn a lot of (more) money that way. hand on the
bun!

He's a pretty rich dude already.

His place used to be a bank or something.

Has anyone got the On and Ventolin Cd's? There are about 4
all in all right.

J198 on 2001-11-25 18:50 [#00055396]

who exactly is little lord faulteroy? anybody? (by the way i
think that's the best track on the album, but way too short)

little lord fauntleroy was a movie...the movie where he gets
the vocal samples used in the song in fact
"oh you dirty little boy"
"looking at the swans, hearing the birds singing"
the latter was also used in one of the girl/boy "remixes"

wayout from a plastic bubble on 2001-11-25 19:08 [#00055405]

oh, and i left out "watching the water flow past in the
canal"

Most of the "remixes" on ventolin aren´t remixes eighter.
The ones with the remix name written in caps (ventolin
PROBUS mix, etc) aren´t, those written like this (VENTOLIN
wheese mix) are.

I've just gotten back into CtD, its been the only thing in
my discman since drukqs. Pound for Pound, its an amazing
album. Every song on it, except for Mummy Mix, is an all
time classic. 7/8 good songs is a record ratio for RDJ or
any artists album. A fucking great CD. My girlfriend likes
Flim, but thats about as far into RDJ as I can get her.
When the whispering voice came in on Little Lord Faulteroy
and then the evil version of the whispering voice came in
she made me turn it off :(. I think I'll strap her to a
chair, tape her eyelids open, and put the come to daddy
video on loop. That should teach her to appreciate good
music =). A little clockwork orange conditioning is the
cure for what ails ya!
