Drunk Money v2

this is actually an older track, but i've added quite a bit
too it - the structure is a bit cleaner/stronger, and i've
added vintage guitar work and fractal pianos. good stuff.

all criticism welcome.

I like this one quite a lot...any chance of you making up a
sample pack with clean samples (ie. each instrument channel
seperate)? I would love to have a go at remixing this.

would you prefer a RAR archive of tracks for quality's sake,
or an MP3 sequence of loops for convenience's sake?

supposed to be directed towards oddio.

thank you for listening sir! - those were played on a custom
model guitar consisting of sorry pickups, an imitation les
paul base and a steel neck, so it has a very vintage sound
which is what i wanted - hehe. they're also patched through
an abilene 22watt practice amp with built-in distortion.
VERY analog.

anyways, thanks!

That was like an injection of nostalgia for me. It's because
of the video game-esque trumpet synths in the "verse" parts.
i liked the bass line in the beginning as well. Did you play
the guitar? Do you play any intruments?

offline Oddioblender from Fort Worth, TX (United States) on 2003-11-16 19:44 [#00952712]

yes i did play the guitar, and the piano. in fact, nearly
all the cowboy sugarcakes melody lines are played live then
looped.

i have played guitar for 10 years now, i'm a novice
keyboardist but i'm theoretically competent, i also have a
xylophone, bamboo recorder, african thumb drum, thumb piano,
violin, rainstick, and chord organ. i range from insolence
to competence to mastery in all of those. =D

Erm?...... Sounds like the theme to a detective spoof, a
good thing in my eyes 8D It's not my thing though, a bit to
straight forward & the sounds are sounding a bit too GM for
me but I like the way you left in the bits that you made
mistakes on & I also dig the guitar, cool.

8)

thanks for listening. i'm trying to go for a less mechanical
sound melody-wise, and anyways, i believe true artists make
good things out of where they screwed up.

drunk money is cool man. it sounds like soundtrack music for
a videogame about 50's mobsters. actually, i kept picturing
that michael jackson video for smooth criminal.
i like the guitar work too.

i'm not sure i like the 10 year guitarist track as much. i
like the beginning but i don't really care much for the
sound of the kick drum or the little guitar solo bits. but
other than that, i like it though. but i like the drunk
money track better.

i like the "where did you run off to" track as well. it has
an interesting rhythm and nice synth pad work. i wish it
was a little bit longer though, or had a few more parts or
layers. it'd make a good segway into another, harsher track
deffinately.

Theme from 10 - year - old guitarist is wonderfully
amateurish.

theme from 10-year guitarist sounds like something that
could have been used in the kill bill soundtrack. it's
groovy and fun.

where did you run off to? is nice, but it doesn't seem to
really grab my attention. it feels like background music.

i like where did you run off to?. it's nice and mellow
although that sample click could go.

10 year old guitarist would be better if you turned your mic
volume down when recording guitar.

i didn't use a mic to record it - i patched it thru a 22watt
amp into my line-in spot. do you mean the volume is too
high?
