I'm looking for very long ambient mixes. Something longer
than a CD length, something you put in you MP3 player and
you let run for hours.

Also, Do you know *circular mixes* : the mix wraps around if
you play it with the repeat function. The point of ambient
is to remove the concepts of beginning and end and linear
structure... So I'm almost sure someone tried this before.

Ambient is notoriously hard to loop, unless you start/end
with a very minimal (or conversly, very "noisy") bit. Best
way I've found is to do the actual "start" of a track about
30 seconds before the end of the piece so that it is hidden
as to when the track is actually starting or ending.

I've thought of doing mixes longer than CDs, but I'd
probably prefer to do them in something like Ableton Live so
you'd need loads of pre-prepared loops. The other
thing is that unless you discard the .wav and just keep the
.mp3, you're going to have to keep a several gb file on your
HD until you can get access to a DVD burner.

just checking on soulseek: there's 4 hours ambient mix / not
tracklist with it. I hope it's not this new age garbage, I
can fuck my sista if I wanna hear a whale singing for 4
hours.

I can't see your point about looping ambient tracks: if you
can blend track B into track A and then C in B, you may be
able to A in C having the circular mix A - B - C.

Are you saying that ambient is hard to mix in general ? Well
that's just a matter of choosing the good tracks and to cue
them accordingly ?
