most my new CD is ambient chill to light noise...

but out of the 2.... V Snares anyday

i'm not fond of either of them (i'm not sure if this is
gramatically correct at all ' _ '), but still boards of
canada gets my vote...

...and "tra tra lalalaaaa ting teehee" is something i'd love

Snares by a country mile. BoC are a one-trick pony. It's a
nice trick mind you. :)

vsnares is great but i agree that it gets old pretty fast.
Boards of canada has lasting qualities but can get
dull...its a tough one.

the reason i started this is because it often seems to me
you people are either snares-minded (or generally, the more
louder non-accessible music) or the more soft (melodic)
electronica.... didn't think lots would like both!

BOC. there's no comparision.

the only 'one trick ponies' are all the drill'n'bass acts.
it's just a big competition to see who can out-afx afx.

"it's just a big competition to see who can out-afx
afx."

I personally find this more exciting than anything Boards of
Canada have put out... ever. But like you said there's no
comparison, I listen to them for completely different
things.

I listen to Boards of Canada when I want eerie soundscapes
and *scoff* melodies (read: boredom :P) and I listen to
Venetian Snares to get my ass kicked.

I can put on some BOC for every one I know, Snares mostly
has to be turned off or i've to lower the volume, so i think
BOC is better listening music, Snares is more for the real
fanatics, like me and most of the members from xltronic. I'm
starting to learn that not everyone likes the music I
prefere.... THANK GOD!

havent been listening to that anymore lately...there's so
many better artsits there, so many better albums...ofcourse
i will still listen to it sometimes, at least it has some
oldies goldies value if nothing else :) (oh, and its quite
pleasent if you're stoned)

ooh baby baby - i'll say: "A"

boc bores me, but they are good for mj use - all of their
stuff is similarily simple

vsnares has such a wide range of styles its easy to find an
album or a few tracks of his which suit the tastes of any
idm listener - sure, he makes a lot of "party music" and
aggressive stuff - but he also makes a lot of melodic,
ambient stuff too - just check out tracks like "Dismantling
5 Years" and "Hymen Tramp Choir"

im sure almost everyone can find a track or even an album of
snares they like - so please dont speak that "i hate all of
that noisecore bullshit snares makes" or else you will look
like (and possibly be) one fucking ignorant asshole
