if there are 1000000 things to see and do in paris, going to
disneyland would be in my last options... but its just a
matter of taste

I mean, you are in europe, the old europe, why going to an
american invention (nice one of course) while you are here?

again its only my opinion

well, I'll get to see the city a bit... friday evening and
sunday, but I want to see Euro Disneyland too...

Bob McBob: Actually it's with Minnie... I need to get some
of that action yo!

cause I want to...

isn't eurodisney a lot smaller than it's counterparts in the
us?

you should do what you can't do at home!

paris has a lot to offer

shrug... well everything is already booked... I want to go
to Disneyland, cause disney is fun... I'll still have a
chance to see the city...

thats a good example

or how german or english people when they come to canary
islands on vacation they go to the english or german clubs,
were they eat english or german food, watch english or
german tv... then, why didnt just they stay in german or
england for holidays?

imo, when I visit another culture, the best I can do is to
know that culture... to have a totally diferent experience.

anyway sometimes its nice to do things you would do at
home... but just as an exception not like everyday doing
things that oyu could do in your country

I mean... if I go to berlin, new york, roma, bombay, viena,
praga.... I would never go to a spanish restaurant, or to a
flamenco spectacle there

man, it's not everyday I can go to Disneyland... Florida and
California are probably just as far away from where I live
as Paris is... I've always liked Disney, so I figured this
would be fun... and I'll still get to see the Eiffel Tower
and some of the other main things to see in Paris... and
it's only a weekend anyways... it's not like I'm going to
learn the culture inside out ...

mabey people go to other countrys just for one thing, like
the beaches or the landmarks, and want everything else to be
like at home, having the best of both worlds....

and the thing is, this is only a weekend trip... I've been
living in the netherlands for the last month and a half, and
I have dived into the culture, and tried to experience
different things... I figured a nice day in Disney would be
fun... but of course I want to see as much of the city as I
can... my roommate and his girlfriend are going to Paris in
December, and they're spending two days in Disney... I only
have one day, and the rest is for seeing the city!

I've been reading a book about the french culture that a man
here at work lent me, and I must say it sounds cool... I'd
love to really spend some serious time in Paris, and the
country, and really experience the culture... but this is
only a weekend, so you know...

from canada? and you're going to see eurodisney in paris?
It's like me going to new york eat a donut and go home right
away, (I'm from europe) spend your time on some serious
culture dude! go see the centre pompidou, the louvre, the
grave yard where JIM Morrison is still lying (pere la
chaisse it's called i think), but don't go to eurodisney,
i've been there and it really really sucks. Unless you want
to have a signature of mickey or minnie off course

exactly. In no particular order off the top of my head:

Montmatre
La Tour Eiffel
Les Invalides
LE fucking Louvre
Le Musee Picasso
Le Centre Pompidou
Le Musee d'Orsay
Notre Damme
Le Musee Rodin
La Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise
Le Sacre Coeur
L'Arc de Triomphe
Les Catacombes
Le Marais
Le Pantheon
Les Jardin de luxembourg
La Conciergerie
Cluny
Le Marmottan
Le Musee Jacquemart-Andre
Le Petit Palais
La Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume
La Seine
Le Jardin des plantes
(ok I'll stop)

and sooooo much more. So many little museums and attractions
hiden away like the Zadkine museum near Luxembourg (free!)
soo many exhibitions.

You could get a train out to the yvelines and see
Versailles.

Your going to one (if not THE) most culturally rich regions
on the planet and what's the priority? EuroDisney. Jeez.
Come on! It's like the US Disneyland except smaller and with
Euros!

not to mention that Paris is great for film lovers. You can
see loads of old films that you would otherwise never see on
the big screen. Get yourself a copy of Pariscope or the
officiel des spectacles (both online too) and see what's on

sorry I don't mean to critisize but FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
I've lived here from the age of 9 (with the odd break to
study in the UK) and I've probably done 1% of what Paris has
to offer (and believe me I've done a lot)
