we have loads of strategy games nowadays. i love them,
specially war games , but is it true that playing in these
games can make real general from you ? they are making more
and more realistic games , so if they are real - can you
tell that victories on virtual battlefield helps you to
become real fighter ?

they would be good for training IF soldiers obeyed your
every command no matter the insanity of it and you never had
communications problems etc. o yeah and if we fought wars
where you can make troops at 10x a minute and they all jump
out of a building and they all have great big laser guns.
but other than that, yeah, strategy games could make you the
next napolian or something like that.

Its kind of like fighter pilots using simulators isn't it?
I remember a combat sim I bought years ago for the PC...it
had the Eurofighter in it....amazing graphics for the
time.....and apparently they used to use it to train the
pilots as well....or so I heard.

i m playing in Sudden Strike now. it is fuckjin real - you
cant make soldiers like toys , but one salve from machine
gun can destroy hole platoon, just like in life.

Like Snake said in MGS2.

"VR training never comes close to the real thing."

The forces would not make one a commander with only VR
experience, even if trained by their systems.Practice makes
perfect.ect.

cant help you , even a bit ?

It helps but it doesn't count for everything...
Think of it this way...Who would you trust in battle?

a. A man who has shot real gun loads of times?

b. A man who has seen a gun shot loads of times?

b , youre right , but i dont think that even half of
soldiers used in various situations nowadays nave been
"tested" in real battle - all they now is screen of a
simulator

I wouldnt trust my life to a simulation , i guess thats all
i got to say.
