The 4 best albums in years!!!

If u think about it, nobody beats the legendary four
horsemen. Squarepusher, AFX, BOC and AE.

They all released the best albums when it comes to
electronic music.

Just check it:

Draft 7.30/Confield

Drukqs

Geogaddi

and Go Plastic!!!

I still think these guys make the best electronic music,
what do u think.

I dont think the "new talents" have anything on the legends
like VS, Ovuca, Bogdan, Hecker Schirach etc etc

name the 4 best electronic albums since hmmmm lets say 97.

1. MHTRTC
2. Drukqs (I can't understand why some people seem to slate
this... some of his best work)
3. Astrobotnia 1
4. Massive Attack - Mezzanine

Yeah!!! I agree! I dont understand how some AFXs fans dont
like this release when it contains all his style and some of
his styles is even MEGA IMPROVED like those drill n bass
parts. Ok then we got the piano parts, but I mean everyone
must like a sweet melody now an then, and the piano is the
sweetes instrument so WHY!??!

hard question!!
i'd say, from what i have (more or less in order):

· Aphex Twin - 26 Mixes For Cash
(· Squarepusher - Music Is Rotted One Note)*
· Susumu Yokota - Sakura
· Fluke - Risotto
· Ken Ishii - Sleeping Madness
· Squarepusher - Go Plastic
· Photek - Modus Operandi
· Plaid - Not For Threes
· Bola - Fyuti
· Autechre - Confield
· Fluke - Puppy

(*...if that can be considered an electronic album!)

those are all great...

i don't consider Massive Attack to be electronic strictly
(otherwise Mezzanine would surely be first on this list, and
100th Window would be in it too!)... nor The Young Gods nor
any electronicy music, otherwise there would be far too many
choices... =)

also Super Ae by the Boredoms would need to be in this list
too but i'm not that sure, they're electronic or not,
they're unclassifiable!!

ah, and put drukQs in this list too if you want.

i only rarely listen to it but it remains excellent.
(and well i only rarely listen to Confield as well, which is
excellent too, same thing... : ))

Actually I think the piano bits are probably my fave bit of
drukqs. I don't like the song that sounds like the interlude
of a Michael Jackson vid, and I don't really like some of
the synths he used on the Drill n bass stuff, which I'm not
too fond of anyways. It doesn't stand out from anything I
hear on this board so coming from Aphex Twin I'd expect to
hear something better than that.Perhaps if he had put nr.10
of disc 2 on disc 1 and leave it at only at disc 1, I
would've been more impressed. Just my 2 cents of course,
everybody else seems to worship this release now.

"I don't like the song that sounds like the interlude

hillarious!!!!!!!

Give me some examples of someone on this board who make
tracks like vordhosbn, mt saint michel mix+st michaels
mount, cock/ver10, 54 cymru beats, meltphace 6 and
ziggomatic v17!!!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?

DONT U EVEN GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!! and if u know anyone of even
come near the class of Druks, for heavens sake, give me the
name of that cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if he just made ONE little track thats half as good as
the worst drill track on Druks give me the name and im
satisfied.

Actually I agree some of the synths on the drill tracks are
a bit crappy - like Cock Ver 10 - but at the end of the day
the beats are pounding.

Well I think plaid should be one off these horsemen....and
VS, MIkE P, Bogdan Raczinsky, AnD Many many more, But then
Again wHat's in A word: the four best albums? Most albums
i've bought in the past years are great and my mood tells me
what record or song is best for that moment..so I can't
really say what's are the four best records. I'm listening
to wevie de crepon right now and he made a great album, at
the moment one of the best 4 albums I bought in the past
years..

the synths on the drill tracks are retro a fucking
amazing!!!!

Could it just be a matter of taste ? Definitly.

I repeat! If someone on this board make drill spastic "over
ambitious" (in a positive way, like u spent months on one
track type shit) amazing talented acid melodic spastic
beautiful stuff like druks NAME HIM here and he will get a
record deal faster than my eye blink.

Ok maybe not a record deal, cuz hes just a bitter biter
afterall hehe

It's just that it's so much more difficult to write a
gripping and moving melody requiring that special musical
gift he has, such as next heap with, Alberto Balsam, wet tip
hen ax, etc., using original sounds, rather than it is to
write technically accomplished Drill 'n Bass tracks (which
is basically nothing more than hard and dedicated work for
him) you find on Drukqs using basic synths that sound like
standard synths of any particular music program.

4 best electronic albums since '97... tough one, nigh
impossible.

1- Aphex Twin- Drukqs
2- Autechre- Confield
3- Amon Tobin- Supermodified
4- Bola- Fyuti

Honoarble mentions go to Lexaunculpt- Blurring of Trees,
Boards of Canada- Music has the Right to Children,
Squarepusher- Go Plastic, and Freescha- Slower than Church
Music. And, if it counts- M83- Dead Cities, Red Seas and
Lost Ghosts.
