so, I finally started to edit my videos from me and some
friends' traintravelling in Europe from april and may this
year... we had almost edited the first tape, and wanted to
see how it looked...starting the preview, the computer
starts working real hard, and I realise that I had not saved
our work... then, of course, the program (MGI VideoWave 4)
shuts down, and all our work disappears in a second.

PC's just suck.

the picture shows my disappointment.

That sucks the nut ...
Editing video is a oain in the nuts. Download Adobe Premier
or something !

yeah, but I don't trust those cracked software either...
premiere has crashed for me too...

now, I've got no motivation at all to start edit those
holiday-tapes...it's more than 9 hours of film! the tapes
just lie on my desk, collecting dust and irritate me. give
me some motivation!

my hard drive broke the day before yesterday. i lost all my
music, essays, work, photos.

maybe i'm too geeky for my own good, but i was *devastated.

i have to reformat my hard drive, like, twice a year.

last time was last thursday. : (

i hate it when it makes me have problems too... i'm feeling
less and less attached to it, each time it hurts me like
that...

wow that sucks....

yeah, i think if i ever get a good sum of money i'm just
going to ditch this PC (i need a new comp anyways) and
seriously think of switching to a Mac - i've used Macs
before, and I've never had any problems with crashes, fatal
bluescreen errors or such with them.

if that happened to my harddrive i'd seriously kill
myself...

I recently had a hard drive crash. I moved most of my stuff
to my new drive, but had to move half of it in DOS. It's a
bit of a pain when you have thousands of mp3s with names
like 'aperf~16'.... but at least I saved most of my stuff.
Now my computer just likes to randomly crash for no reason
that I can find. I think it's time for a new one...

i cried when the guy said all my files were irretrievable.
i feel like i've almost lost part of myself.

it sucks serious ass.

It's not like Apple makes the hard drives. If you've got one
that just barely passed quality control it will die on your
Mac just as quickly as on your PC or Commodore 64.

If you're going to put a large part of your life on a
computer - either learn how to make proper backups or go
back to instant photos and carving on rocks.

my harddrive crashed some time ago, and I had some video on
it, that I didn't have anywhere else. the guys at the
support said that the computer was screwed, but a friend to
my mom fixed so I could save the video.

you can't trust those support-guys, every time I called them
I got a different advice what to do... and I called like 15
times, not kidding...

yeah - my harddrive has the majority of the last 3 years of
my creative life on it. trust me, it's like a vital organ
for me now.

hope things get better for you, dear.

I had a HD crash some time ago, so now I've got a DVD burner
and I back things up. So far I've got five 4.5GB discs worth
of XXX-movies. They sell well at work though :)
