I saw all three today! they all give me goosebumps! I was not disappointed by the third one, I think it was great... everybody compare reloaded and revolutions with the first one and say that they suck, but I think they're all great!

i've heard good things from people who've seen it on other boards.
quote: --------------------------------------------- Anyone who enjoyed the 2nd one will enjoy this one even more; anyone who hated the 2nd one might not like this one too much either. All I'll say about it is if you know anything about the source of this material, ie the philosophical/spiritual ideals the Warchowskis are drawing from, then you will realize the immense beauty in what they've done with this trilogy. Its hard to imagine a better way to have done it...
As far as Zion being a "different level of the Matrix," the film touches on that, in a scene with Smith facing off with Neo - I refuse to go into details yet, suffice to say that this film is loaded, and I know for a fact that one viewing isn't enough to catch it all.
Beyond the depth of the source material and the overlaying meaning of the films, this film is packed with amazing battle scenes, suspense and twists. It capitalizes beautifully on the setup of the 2nd film without blurting out all the answers - the Warchowskis have beautifully "shown it" rather then "said it" in a lot of situations where it may have been easier to simply say it.
Yes there are some unresolved issues at the end of the film, but it didn't leave me with any less the feeling of completion. They ended the story they started and conveyed something very powerful along the way, and that's what the trilogy was meant to do =)
---------------------------------------------

the first one is a great action movie. the other two are a great marketing ploy. it isn't a planned trilogy though, atleast not in the sense that star wars is, and it shows in the second two movies.
i think the first was a great action film that had some pseudo philosophical ideas that are present in alot of better sci fi films, and people liked those ideas alot. this went to the wachowskis heads, and they infused the second two with way too much mumbo jumbo and not enough of what the first one has: entertainment and emotional involvement.
it could have been a great trilogy, but instead, i find its just a great first movie followed by a second with good (not great) effects and a cardboard story. the verdict is still out on the third since i haven't seen it yet, but most reviews i've read have been negative. then again, harry knowles, who i tend to agree with on movies, just put up a really positive review on it, and he had basically the same reservations i had for this one. so who knows, maybe it'll turn out awesome. these are just my opinions on what i've seen thus far.

i actually read a very SCATHING review of The Matrix: Revolutions in the Fort-Worth Star Telegram this morning - not that i really pay too much attention to what critics think, but one of the major points they made was that Neo is missing from the film for an entire 30 minutes, and that you shouldn't leave a core character out of a film for such an extended period of time.
however, i haven't seen the film yet - hell, i haven't even seen Reloaded yet. so i will see them before i judge anyone's opinion on them.
i did LOVE the Animatrix though.

The first film was okay. I think it's very overrated. The second film was awful. I don't want to waste my money on this one.

out of all the sci fi films lately, this still blows everything ive ever seen away.
i think people just like to hate the popular.
i never see people going into this much detail about things wrong and bashing in any other movie, proolly bceause they arent as popular

well, i enjoyed it. for a hollywood blockbuster franchise designed to rake in millions of dollars, it was damn good. i can think of hundreds of worse movies that are far more deserving of the criticism recieved by the matrix trilogy.
if you think you'll like it, you will probably like it. if you think you'll hate it, then why the hell would you go see it?
