I like the way they look. I like the size. But what
different capacities do they come in? What features are
available on them?

I'm considering buying a Zen II (60 GB) from CreativeLabs,
which has many good functions (including time-stretch) not
to mention a nice size and a good, sleek look (like iPods,
just a little bigger).

I'm also considering buying the Zen Xtra... 60 GB!! I like
the idea of "waking and falling asleep to music"... sounds
cool.

iPod has a better design indeed, but when it comes to price,
Zen is unbeatable. I'd go for Zen rather than iPod.

can an ipod be played in a car without a cassette deck ?
(without using an fm transmitter - this would not work very
well in the NY metropolitan area)

i have the older ipod (the one with the control buttons
around the scroll wheel) Even though its bulkier than the
new ones, its still very small and compact. Mine holds 10
gigs of music and its pretty much all filled right now.

The new generations are smaller, cheaper, and they hold
more. Definately worth it, especially if you listen to music
at work with headphones. I use my ipod everyday, it cost
$400 but it was worth it.

i wouldnt want to. I cant be arsed skipping though tracks or
categories or markers or whatever the funk. I'd rather have
each band seperate, and each mix seperate. Plus i can record
real audio demos of my goodself singing like a
ponce[although you can probably do that with ipods?]. Plus i
can convert tracks to my hi-fi by just pressing eject.

iPod can convert tracks too just by pushing a cable in

each to their own anyway. The funny part is, my housemate
wants to get one, and he's so determined to convince me that
they're the coolest thing ever, and im all 'whatever', he
gets seriously pissed off about it. Its like i have to think
hes cool for getting it, or theres no point getting it.
Haha, lame

dont forget its out of stock in europe, i have to wait for
about 3-4 weeks b4 i get it!! :(

other mp3 player thread

I think that the personalize option also made me get an
ipod, ofcourse thats not the only reason, but its something
extra that make my ipod unique.

I might get a cheaper non-overcommercialized 20 GB MP3
player some day, iwhen I can actually afford one. THe iPods
are indeed very nice but they're IMO way to expensive.

I'll probably get a 40Gb (with a FM Transmitter)
