this is one absolutely beautiful record - everyone that
likes ambient should get this!!! its a mixture of organic
and electronic sounds beautifuly mixed together
pure beauty...

here are some comments from the cover:
"oh this is good. really good" DJ
"sweet, strange and just a little sinister" mojo
"a work of uncommon dearness and dusty beauty" sleaze
nation
"alongside susumu yokota's SAKURA, this is a post-ambient
milestone" careless talk cost lives
"beautiful stuff" muzik
"delightful" future music

it is compared to sakura which is one of my favourite
albums, and i agree this one comes really close to it

anyone heard this already?

this is new to me - apperantly cecile is a girl - i was
pretty sure it was some japanese guy...well it just makes it
even more amazing :)

here - a review:

It seems a shame to tarnish the delicate perfection of
Colleen’s music with words - this is music that needs to
be listened to late at night, free of everyday distractions.
You’ll find yourself entranced by these 13 mesmerising
spider’s webs of sound that sound like they’ve been
beamed in from another place, another time.

Colleen’s simple but effortlessly charming music is one of
magical details - naïve instrumentals filled with warmth,
melody and soul, played on a broken music box, a
glockenspiel or a guitar, phasing in and out, on the verge
of collapse. Above all, this is wonderfully human...

Everyone Alive Wants Answers is the haunting work of
26-year-old Parisienne Cecile Schott. Her debut album
release, she has previously released a gem of a 7” single
(Babies) on the up-and-coming Active Suspension label, which
brought her to the attention of The Leaf Label. This release
follows naturally in the footsteps of the label’s work
with Susumu Yokota.

Cecile’s live performance is a ramshackle experience,
utilising any number of unexpected found instruments,
playful and melancholic in equal measure.

Another girl, another planet.

I saw Einstunzde Neubauten play in a theatre in new york
about 8 years back...maybe ten....it was really cool! They
used a bin and some chains for the drums and the rest was
vocals

no idea, i havent heard silence is sexy, the most recent ive
heard is ende neu which is 1996 so im not familiar with
their new stuff as much(but ive liked every single thing ive
heard by them). i heard silence is sexy cd 1 was different
but that cd 2 was noisey so maybe a combination(or maybe
something completely different?)

actually the second CD is a single track or acoustic
noise... it's like 14 minutes long... i have no idea why i
don't listen to that album very much... pretty cool

i unfortunately only have strategies 1, ende neu and haus
der luge, all are great. i am missing quite a bit of their
work but im fine for now since i just got haus der luge.

but i never thought of women as great producers (with one or
two wxceptions)...
but colleen is really impressive

and minimal.

i'll listen again shortly.
