imo: the love below is noteworthy as a statement, and a very bold step, but it doesn't really have a whole lot of staying power. it's bordering on novelty. but, it does have a few true gems on it. speakerboxx is a real good hip-hop album. it probably would've benifited from andre being on it more, but it's still very good.

very tough. kickin' tracks on both. it's really like comparing two kinds of fruit both of which you like because they have a good flavor, though their flavor is different. i love bananas, and i love grapes, too.

i was going to say exactly what epohs just said.
i will add that i have never really listened to much Outkast and i didn't realize he was so funny. he says some pretty wacky shit.

The Love Below.
A more interesting listen, for me. In particular I like spread, prototype, she lives in my lap, Dracula's wedding, and Vibrate.
Speakerboxx isnt that engaging for me. There are a couple of tracks I enjoy, like ghettomusick and unhapy, but the rest all kind of sound the same.

The Love Below, it's so eclectic and never gets boring, and I'm not even a hip hopper. Andre has a excess of charisma. It's the more ambious half of a really ambitious project. His hair is ugly in the first video, though.

There are good songs on both, but you can't really compare them. It is an outkast album, and i like the whole.

oh yeah, like that autechre vs. dj shadow topic last year, that made a whole lot of sense. :P
speakerboxxx and the love below have different aims and IMO they're both accomplished. w/ big boi's album it's not ambiguous at all. anyone who is or was into hip-hop (and i don't mean "faggot ass anticon" or similar material, i mean real hip-hop) can tell just by listening that this is one dope as hell hip-hop album. w/ andre's album it's really up to each individual whether it satisfies them or not, but that's what happens when you try something new.
