Tomorrow!
I have some questions:

- Where are the music stores that are worth a visit?

- Which museums should I see?

- Where can I find coffeeshops?

- Do you know some fabric-shops? (I don't really expect an
answer to this one, but if you know, pleeease tell me :-)

aww you lucky lucky man.. It is my dream to visit there..
I'm sorry I can't really help with your questions but good
luck and I hope you find some ridiculously dank weed while
there. =)

Yeah, I like Jacques Brel.

Heh.. It's only two hours by train, but 've never been
there, tho.
The coffeeshops are the last of what I worry about. (unless
I find a lot of money today)

and..What has Jacques Brel to do with Amsterdam?

go to the Utrechtsestraat (tram 4).

2 record stores there, Concerto and Get Records.

Concerto has a lot but Get Records has it all - mostly cd's
though, but if they can stock it, they will. all of Planet
Mu, Warp, Schematic, you name it, it's there.

Where can I find coffeeshops?

don't worry. if you're anywhere near downtown you won't
have any problem at all.

so the coffeeshops are all over the place?
okay.. Well, I thought they were all located in one
neighbourhood, like I saw in Maastricht.

my favorite place we went was the 'grasshopper'.

to be honest, i wasn't overly impressed.

i wish we would've stayed long enough to explore outside of
the downtown area. but alas, we just stumbled in and out of
bars & coffeeshops, and went to the redlight district to see
what all the hype was about.

it actually seemed kinda dirty, and touristy. not exactly
how i expected it. but, if smoking pot without fear of john
q. law is what you're looking for, i guess it's a good place
to go. and definately a good story to tell.

the architecture was pretty nice. but, i've seen prettier
places, and smoked better pot than i got there too.

you've only seen the tourist Amsterdam.

that has little to do with the real city.

Pity I can't do that.
We're going only one day, especially to see an exhibition.

I'll sure have a good time, cos my personal Godess is coming
with me. =o)

Thanks for the suggestions! I definitely want to see that
boat!

cool, I was in Amsterdam a couple weeks ago... as far as
museums, I guess the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museums are
the two big ones... especially if you like art... I didn't
get to see a whole lot, but I plan on going back there for a
day to see the red light district, and some of the more
seedy areas, like the sex and torture museums, and the porno
supermarket! :)

ok,
just a few doors down from the main Grasshopper is a
coffeshop called the Speakeasy, cheapest weed in amsterdam.

also, the Hill Street Blues is a nice little bar/coffeshop.

also the 4:20/Zappa bar/coffeshop for nice hash, dont buy
weed though, just hash.

just a few stops on the tram from the center you will find
alot more cheaper and freindlier coffeshops, most in the
center want you in and out in 10 minutes, no chance of
spending a bit of time.

also if you need any other goodies, let me know and i can
get whatever you need.
