new cd + dvd pack with new Reich work (came out about two
months ago).

I must say I love it - a whole new slant on musical theatre,
almost documentary in it's approach.

great use of samples yet again, intricate sampling of
interviewed people, nice subtle use of timestretch here and
there, even some singing through autotune.

the dvd is quite wonderful too - the whole piece was made to
be shown with this video.

uh..

right.

the thread isn't exactly booming..

could be because you haven't been around that long, or
sumfink..? I wouldn't worry about it though. :)

anyway - I have been listening to the cd almost non-stop the
last few days.
I must say I love how the sampled radiomessages in the 2nd
piece "Bikini" (about Bikini Beach, where the hydrogen bomb
was tested in 1946) all have a faint musical line in the
background, melodically playing along with the spoken
message.

very, very subtle and so damn good!
