says Mr. James is composing music for a tv movie or
documentary about amish kids going out into reality? yeah...

jand from Chelmsford,Essex, UK on 2001-11-21 06:30 [#00054087]

Yep, its already been shown in the UK...

No new music in it tho, just a selection of SAWII (and
other) tracks...

It's about Amish kids who, when they are 16, are allowed to
embrace the outside world and do what they want for a couple
of years. They can then choose whether to rejoin the Amish
or not..(about 85% do rejoin)...

It was shot in 1999 and 2000 and has played on HBO too, it
goes for about 1 and a half hours.

um, what does amish mean, please?

Ceri JC from Wales on 2001-11-26 09:41 [#00055631]

The amish are a denomination of strict Christians who live
together and won't use any modern technology e.g. cars
radios etc. (Hence they'll never have heard any rdj ;-( ).
They lead a self sufficent farming based life and are famous
for errecting barns. They typically work 12 hour days and
are very puritanical.

Hope that explains. If you are cynical, Chuck Palahuick (the
guy who wrote fight club) wrote a good book that is
obviously based on them called survivour.

Do you rekon the freemasons have anything to do with the
amish people ?

I was once inside a freemasons temple, inside was a piano /
organ.

there was no person to play it so i am nat able to say what
is sounded like

the inside of the temple was very strange

Positions in an Amish community that would be funny:

Drug Dealer (ezekiel, sell me one of those marijuana
sticks?)
Gang Leader (let us release our fury apon the other Amish
communitys)
Repair Man (Well sir your horse needs a new leg, and thats
gonna cost ya)
Mime (........)
Commedian (The other day I was out milking the cow when i
realized that we only own a bull....)
Sports Broadcaster (and #15 Jebidah scores his 2nd career
goal)
Doctor
Extreme Cyclist (lol)
Nuclear Physicist (once again lol)
Town Drunk (i dont even know what to put for this)
Door to Door Sales Person (did you know that your wagon
wheels are not of the finest ash wood?)
Avon Worker (and with our 12 month subscription you can find
many different ways to do your facial hair!)
Bum (god how do you even become a bum in an amish
community?)
Internet Service Provider (i can just see the wooden ports
and hay cables now...)
