holy shit fire storm.

I haven't seen the news footage, but 500+ homes burned,
250,000 acres charred, and NO idea when it can be
contained.

Hope mickey is ok.

Shit like this is quite fucked indeed. :/

So many lives being jeopardised. People abandining things
they cherish and love. Things they put thought and love
into.

So many memories going up in flames. :(

i heard the arson story as well........but i think it was
another fire if i'm not mistaken. wasn't it set by a
firefighter?

i could be totally wrong and i'm not talking about these
wildfires specifically.

i heard the ash was all over the airport in san diego.....so
they finally closed it.....peepz don't understand
either....complaining about why flights are
cancelled......REALITY CHECK folks!!!

The really fucked part is that we are surrounded by fire.
San Diego, San Bernadino, Camp Pendleton, LA...it's a giant
circle.

yeah, but people bitch about anything.

The ATC responsible fore traffic in the SoCal area was
evacuated, which backed up traffic. They have another
center taking up the load.

lots of diversions around the area though

I'm so glad I dont live there right now. Sure they get
sunny 72 degree weather year round, but then something like
this happens and reminds you why living there comes with a
price.

that would be like an earthquake hitting the northeast and I
go.

that good east coast living comes with a price.

it's a natural disaster, not a daily thing.....

I'm hearing the fire was started by some cunt who got lost
in the woods who decided to light a fire to "signal" for
help.

so, about 3 days later, the fire is even bigger, and though
the wind has subsided a bit, the situation is no better

man, what hell

Well, they identified the firefighter who died a few days
ago.

He was part of a fire company dispactched from my home town
of Novato, in Northern California. :(

Bless those guys

This is awful. 20 people dead or something like that, and an
incredible amount of trees and forest gone, a trillion acres
gone, just like that. What do you do with all that charred
land?

It's all Arnold's fault.

i've heard that the destruction count is now up to at least
1,800 homes and at least 10 deaths.

pretty insane - and that smoke isn't doing anything good at
all for air quality - it's closing in on Los Angeles
soon....

2400 houses, that's gotta be 7000 people or something,
without a home. Unbelievable! And they aren't really slowing
it down YET, are they?

yeah, the Santa Ana winds stopped (hot dry air @ 40+ mph)

but offshore breezes picked up. Supposed to get rain and
cooler temps, that should turn the tide. hopefully.....
