someone posted this at watmm

apparently this guy was in a coma for 6 months, and while he
was in a coma, he was convinced he was in hell

he then painted this pictures of what he saw, after he
recovered.

That one painting with hte single tree in the field is

Beksinski is probably one of the best artists of all time.
Inspiring stuff. You should try looking for a site with
bigger pictures. There is AMAZING detail that is being
missed with these smaller pics

Yeah, he's incredible. I'm not too fond of his computer
generated work but his paintings are mind bending. If anyone
knows of any similar artists, speak out.

Err maybe? I suppose they've got a more fantasy-surrealist
tinge rather than the petty, graphic violence of bosch, but
still...

I'm studying art at foundation, not that it makes me a
connoisseur...

To me, bosch's work IS petty, that's exactly what makes it
so nightmarish. They're a jumble of inexplicable violence,
from mild to the ultra-graphic... jake and dinos chapman
think like me, anyway; their scale-model works focus on the
same vastly detailed, petty level of violence.

Oh, "in my opinion".

the skyscapes i found to be stunning.

i love how he puts a kind of "motion" feel in some of them.

If it's at the saatchi then it's the retrospective of their
past stuff (tragic anatomies, disasters of war etc). Maybe
there's some new ones in there too though, i've not seen it
cos london's too far to go really. Have fun mate, if "fun"
is the right word to use.

yes, I'm sure you're using the wrong word there, look it up
in the dictionary and agree with me. They're not actually
just a jumble of violence but it's all the way it is for a
reason, which in turn is one of the reasons why he is one of
the world's great masters. By the way I really like the work
of Beksinksi.

Petty: contemptibly narrow in outlook (dictonary.com).
Perhaps you could give me a better adjective, but i do
believe that bosch's work is revealing the "petty" nature of
man's inhumanity (hence bestial imagery etc) and violence /
lack of control. I'm not disputing that his work is
fantastic though, don't interpret my comments as criticism.
Personally i love bosch.
