maybe bands like green day are "punk" in the sense that thy
take it up the ass.

Joy Division... might explore the genre a bit more when I
have the money.

punk, but its the best pop punk out there. then again
im prolly just being nostalgic, but i can still listen to
dookie for hours on end. kinda like this board when you
think about it:
do you have the time
to listen to me whine
about nothing and everything all at once?

:P

the form in music.. still exists but it's not punk anymore..

what's punk now? i'm not sure. but aphex twin was the very
essence of punk some time ago, i'm not sure it's anymore.

i'm quite surprised that this thread has been left without
mention of a good few punk bands that actually embody the
spirit of punk, totally.
the ramones, the clash, the damned, the stooges, new york
dolls, the sonics....
they arent fake punk rock. they are the guys who made it
good.

its a shame that total piss like green day or blink 182
would be beside these bands in a record store in the "punk"
section. i think its a tragedy.

STRIAGHT JACKET
dun duh dunnana
STRIAGHT JACKET

Yeah the addicts rule! The reason why I started this thread
is because I get a lot of punk rock egos blasting in my face
telling me shit like "WHATS PUNK ROCK" and "WHAT ISNT"

"Oh the cure is punk rock" oh "Devo is punk rock" oh "Johnny
cash is punk rock". Its like Sure they didnt give a shit but
they werent PUNK ROCK. Anyway In my area we got a ton of
guys saying that they "SAVED THE SCENE" but when in relaity
all they did was jump on the good charlote/schreeching
weasel band wagon.
