ok guys, i'm heading off to scotland on tuesday, and i need some tips! give me some ideas of what do in glasgow and edinburgh...cool sites, record stores, interesting architecture, etc i know there are a lot of scottish people here! any help would greatly be appreciated :) |

you must wear a kilt, its compulsory. A kilt is a dress made out of carpet, with a sporren attached. The bigger the sporren you have, the more masculine you are considered. You can buy sporrens in most shops, but for best effect youll want to catch yourself a live one. Check out the local woods (scotland is 85% woods) and bring your gutting knife, they will put up a struggle. |

Check out, Rub-A-Dub records, they have a web site, and are in the centre of glasgow. Also try some fish and chips from 'the blue lagoon' chip shop, tasty treat!! Very hard to find, but go to Club 69 in Paisley on Saturday, the guys in rub-a-dub are the dj's, so ask them, its the best club in the UK, very small and underground, fuckin top class!!! And as for all these wankers from england, and that fuckwit from Cardiff (hahaha we got snares) dont listen to em, at least we are genuine up here and have an identity unlike all the lukewarm pisspots that come from england. in Edinburgh: Fopp - one near Princes street , second one on Coburn Street , near Royal Mile. Also try Avalanche - great stuff ,one at Coburn street ( next to Fopp) others in other parts os city(cant remember) . Near grassmarj\ket there is Analouqe , wicked books .... Avoid stupid shops like Underground Techno , only shitty pink clothes for gofs. These are the best shops - in fopp you will find everything but without advice about idm , in Avalanche yoiu have bunch of ppl who know what is going on in music, and it is an ocasion to get old second hand cd's , vinyls - i bought Aphex Drugqs on vinyl ( new! )for 15 pounds... |

i was walking through leith walk every evening - nothing scaryy in this , except weekend nights . Good cina\ema at top , shops , ahops , shops. Avoid doskc and part at the sea - specially at night |

COME TO GLASGOW!!! Its da bomb. Rub a Dub records, avalanche records, missing records, monorail records and fopp are all good for bass-buying. all the staff are real friendly, too. dont think theres any good gigs on tuesday or wednesday tho... :( on the briht side, theres a whole bunch of (fairly) cool things to do. buy a copy of "The List" magazine when you get here...its full of whats going on in the city. good luck dont bring a gun.....its nice. |
