I find it incredibly disgusting that this bill was passed with no exceptions regarding risks to the women's health...

this ban doesnt really attack women who dont want to carry through with the pregnancy, it attacks women who are at risk healthwise because of it.

"partial birth" abortions are fucked up. abortions arent partial birth abortions, partial birth abortions are really walking the thin line between abortion and killing babies, even for someone who supports abortion rights.

admittidly, I didnt know the details behind partial birth abortions...
but now that I do, I still think, if a womans life is in risk, then she should have the right... otherwise I dont see how anyone could go through with that... it really is like killing babies...
and... isnt there a... uh... less brutal way to do it? crack the skull open, and suck out its brains? wtf?

Im totally prochoice...
but I just dont see how a woman, could lie there, while the doctor pulls her baby out, cracks its skull, and sucks its brains out.
I mean, its not a pleasent thing to do, even if it wasnt brutal... like, I dont know... injecting it with something... I dont know... im not a doctor, so I dont know the options or lack there of....
but have the babies head cracked open, and its brain sucked out (while inside of the woman mind you) is insane!
But if a woman will die, then its an unfortunate, yet nessasary procedure

With modern technology/medicine as it is today you would think such a procedure would be unnecessary

i am pro choice too, abortion is already traumatizing enough for women i think it would be unfair to not leave them the choice... but when it comes that far, when the baby is already formed and almost born, being against that is understandable...
it depends on the cases i guess... but if you CAN do it earlier, i think you must.

Abortion is horrible. Even if there is a health risk for the mother one life does not cancel out another. It would be better for a woman to sacrifice herself, if that is what has to happen, than to murder her own child to save herself. BTW I don't know what is up with the "church wins" comment, but it was pretty offensive. If one understands the human process it is pretty simple cause and effect .. male and female join together and a baby is made. There are ways to prevent it but they aren't 100%. ABORTION AS A LAST RESORT FORM OF CONTRACEPTION IS EVIL. If you sleep with someone, be aware of the possibility of having a child with them and raising it together.

You're forgetting something : a baby is not conscious of its own existence, so that would make the mother's life more valuable.

Yeah I guess not. Although sometimes i've felt that I'd be better off not existing.
I guess I should state my position on the always heated abortion debate. It's a sad thing that it has to happen, but I think women should have the right to a legal and safe place to have it done. I think they should allow for medical exemptions on this partial-birth abortion thing.
I know it's not an easy choice for a woman to make. As a guy I can't understand it but it can't be something done lightly.

i'm not going to bother stating whether i'm pro-choice or pro-life, because the real issue to me is why we even have to have this debate in the first place.
i tend to think that if people only wanted abortions when it was known the fetus was going to have serious abnormalities or that the mother's life was going to be at a severe risk then this wouldn't be such a big issue. i'm not for a woman's (or anyone's for that matter) choice to terminate a fetus because of inconvienence. the unfortunate fact is that these procedure's being so prevalent and available only serve to compromise our sense of responsibility we have towards having sex.
maybe the world would end up being a slightly better place if abortion was illegal and we learned that we couldn't rely on that safety net. would it result in more responsible people or just more unwanted babies?
i don't have all the answers...
i just have this one.
i'm just kidding. the bottom line for me is i have trouble stomaching the idea of killing an unborn child. it just feels wrong to the core, and it's as simple as that.
by the way, i'm not christian or anything like that. agnostic through and through.

I just don't think making abortion illegal would all of a sudden make people have a more responsible attitude towards having sex. You honestly think that?
Besides, the unwanted fetus is an invading organism; if you don't want it, you should be able to remove it.
