I'll have to nominate a non-electro album, but the best one
I've heard this year hands down.

Coheed & Cambria - In Keeping Secrects of Silent Earth: 3

offline eXXailon from purgatory on 2003-10-21 13:31 [#00912380]

VSnares - Chocolate Wheelchair album

Gridlock - Formless (not yet released, but I absolutely LOVE
the 4 tracks I've heard so far)

I've yet to hear Plaid's 'Spokes' since it's still being
delivered. With that aside Ulrich Schnauss's 'A Strangely
Isolated Place' has been the best release of 2003.

That might change considering how much I love Plaid.

i'm sorry, i must've misread that, it looked like you
included an underwhelming autechre album and something from
tomahawk on there instead of outkast, madlib, lfo, or matmos

you said smojphace was better than think tank? at least
think tank has 2 great songs on it (out of time and
ambulance), smojphace has none

hands down, my pick for best album of the year. it's a shame
this release has gone unnoticed around here.

Travis - I say a pay to your comments! For instance, I truly
can't stand OutKast.
And whilst yes, Think Tank has some better tracks than
Smojphace, it also has a large number of worse ones. I'd
honestly rather listen to ktpa1+2 than Crazy Beat, Moroccan
People, Good Song, Brothers and Sisters, Jets and Gene By
Gene.

offline Jarworski from The Grove (United Kingdom) on 2003-10-21 16:55 [#00912668]
Points: 10836 Status: Lurker

1. FFAF - CDADIC
2. Biffy Clyro - Vertigo Of Bliss
3. Minus - Halldor Laxness
4. Plaid - Parts In The Post
5. U-Ziq - Billious Paths
6. Venetian Snares - Chocolate Wheelchair
7. White Stripes - Elephant
8. Radiohead - Hail To The Thief
9. Tomahawk - Mit Gas
10. Strokes - Room On Fire

Dishonorable Mentions:

Afx - 26 Mixes For Cash
Mars Volta - Deloused In The Comatorium
A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step
Muse - Absolution
Nymphomatriac
Autechre - Draft 7.30
The Darkness - Permission To Land

All of which were either disapointing, or, in the case of
The Darkness, always playing and always annoying.

but... it's just fuckin noise, mate. you prefer that over a
song? the ones you mentioned aren't bad songs, they're just
very average for blur. i'd sooner listen to an average song
with a melody and rhythm than the filtered and looped sound
of richard stuffing my money into his overflowing
pocketbook.

I truly hate most of the songs on Think Tank, personally. I
wouldn't class them as average. I think that's being way too
generous. Maybe it is because I loved most pre-Think Tank
stuff. But I seriously cannot listen to that album. I
absolutely hate it.
