Interesting track. After a bit i will listen to it a couple
of more times. I need to hear this one more than once to
have an opinion. Good music though!

Nice atmospheric effect near the end and the additions of
guitars especially near the end is real cool! :D

I'll give it a couple of more times to analyze the vocals.

oh the vocals... i find what he's saying to be incredibly
hipocritical... but at the time i wasnt listening to his
words, i was concentrating on the music too much, as it was
recorded live.

I liked the guitar & music, not a big fan of the vocals
though... I think the track would work well with a different
rapper. Any chance you could trial a couple of different
people over the instrumental or was it all recorded as one
track?

In the end i wasn't a big fan of the vocals either but i
think this could be great as an instumental

cheers titsworth... i was hoping to get an opinion from
someone who actually knows their hip hop...

..i gave it to some Dj's here in brisbane and their feedback
was overwhelmingly positive... expect more soon :)

i played this to some hip hop producers in brisbane... (the
brothers stoney in particular) and they all seem to have the
same comment....

"you need to work with a better rapper"

lots of aussie hip hoppers are very particular about what an
mc should sound like.. but theres an equal number i reckon
of guys like your mate. i think his style is fine!

are there any serious aussie rappers? like, rap about
meaningful subject matter in a vocal style that isn't taking
the piss or just partytime music? this is the only thing
i've heard outside of, i think, some female aussie rappers
who were signed but not much better.

i have only heard some bitching about the government, taking
the piss out of subcultures... etc etc... i dont really
think aussie hip hop is taken very seriously actually... i
might be wrong, coz its never been my scene

Have you considered trialing rappers from other countries
over your instrumentals?

well bitching about the gov and having a go at
cliques/subcultures is definitely a big part of underground
hip-hop here but in the US, at least among us hip-hop
"heads", we take it reeeeeeeeal serious, as an artform
worthy of intense study and devotion ("i am hip-hop") and
anyone who steps to the mic better come correct or they're
embarassing themselves and "the culture"... real critical
people

oh i havent really thought about it, but i'd definatly be
keen...

heh yes there are those round here who try to emulate that..

i understand... its really not the same over here... i cant
explain it because its not my scene... however i work at a
bar that promotes it a lot, so i watch the gigs... i watch
the people... i observe the culture... and it seems like
anybody can grab the mic and go at it without being slammed
by critics... it seems to be... the funnier the better...
the cruder the better... and so on...

well here as in brisbane then i guess.. i dont know what its
like in perth...

one think i do know tho is that hip hoppers bring trouble...
every hip hop night we have, the walls get tagged, fights
break out between crowd and staff... and they all storm off
like "fuck you" when we are the ones providing it for them
in the first place... but they'll be sure to turn up the
following week.

i bought an aussie hip-hop mag a while back...it was pretty
much just for the grafiti pics, but it was cool all the
same.

there's a good deal of comedy rap here too but even that
demands a level of skill from the lyricist because there're
literally so many rappers out there that if you can't make
them laugh within a few seconds they cut your mic off/stop
listening to your demo

lots of people rhyme for the love of it and not for
contracts.. myself included.. the attitude is "anyone can do
it" but on record or at shows we don't want to listen to
anything that isn't top notch lyrically and production-wise
