BDO 2004: Sydney 23rd Melbourne 26th Adelaide 30th A bit early i know, BUT here goes :. I'll be in Melbourne from 24th-31st (ish). So, question is this, does anyone already know, or better, could anyone let me know if and when Aphex were to have a little separate gig thing with Mr. Vibert [presumably this would be sort of short notice type thing]. I know a heap of people here in Auckland are hanging out for a separate gig - as they don't want the BDO crowds etc. (?) This'd be mucho appreciated. |

how do you know there will be a seperate gig? im trying to book him for a seperate gig in brisbane at the bar im at... perhaps im up against competition? |

i don't know, but i'd be surprised if bdo is all he did down under? just a suspicion. happened with other bands around bdo here in auckland previously [foo fighters, basement jaxx, coldplay i think?]. not all too often the likes of mr. ricki d jams bowls on over these quarters - i'd guess that there'd be venues willing to fork out the cash and take advantage whilst he is over here [they wouldn't have to pay for his air fare for one]? something along those lines ... cross my fingers i 'spose |

I happened to be in Melbourne when he played the BDO in 97 (spot of luck eh, you travel to the other side of the world only to find Aphex playing a few days after you hit Melbourne!!), and caught him then. He didn't play any extra smaller gigs unfortunately, at least none that we could find.... |
