new, old boards of canada. holy hell!

I just downloaded 'a few old tunes' vol.1 from soulseek and
burned it to CDR.. and I've been listening to it all night.
This is incredible.. this ranks with some album work! and
it's free! geez.. some of these tracks blow my mind. This
version of rodox video and happy cycling are great.. and
there's all these new tracks.. just makes me want to die of
happiness. Anyway. just thought I'd share my happiness

What's the tracklist of Vol. 1? I've seen lots of different
ones ranging from 12 to 17 tracks.

When I listened to "A few old tracks" I realised why BoC
don't release their older material. There are some decent
tracks, but comared to Geogaddi or their new stuff, it's
quite poor

I can't prove it, but if they are fakes, they are really
good, because it really has the BoC sound. The same beats,
the same synths, etc.

I love BoC... I bought the Peel Session yesterday, so now I
have all their cds that are available I believe... there's
that aquarius promo I don't have, but that's pretty rare
ain't it? Ah well, I have most anyways... so I'm happy!

ebay. Next time it's up for sale, concider it mine

price:)
But seriously. £70 for a new version of Aquarius and the
just-above average Chinook? Nah...

I got Volume 2 from somewhere, and there's some really ace
tracks on it. Incidently, how excatly did these releases
come about... did BoC themselves stuff it onto soulseek or
did someone with a personal copy start sharing it around?

offline PigeonSt from Detroit on 2003-10-13 08:53 [#00900576]
Points: 1780 Status: Regular

apparently someone with a personal copy put it on the
p2p...

"this ranks with some album work! and
it's free!"

yeah but is it supposed to be free? by that token, anything
you would get on slsk would be "free"

it is amazing, as is volume 2. i'd def. buy both if they
were ever released legitimately.

It's only 'free' because someone broke a promise it and put
it online...

offline earthleakage from tell the world you're winning on 2003-10-13 09:12 [#00900592]

the original set of mp3s i got for volume 1 which come with
a seperate tracklisting as a txt file and encoded at 192
kbps (17 tracks) clock in at 54:18 but the second set which
has a more extensive tracklisting and is broken up into
smaller fragments (30 tracks) has an extra 15 minutes or so
tagged onto the end (71:47). if you want tracklisting find
me on slsk later

about the 'being free' issue, I don't see why this
compromises my morality in the least. I daresay 98% of this
board, including me, would purchase this in a heartbeat were
it released legitimately. and for a 'promise' being broken,
i don't see how we'd even know how boc themselves feel about
its availablity. If it's not meant to be online, then
whoever encoded it is at fault.. we're just reaping the
benefits :).

earthleakage: yes, that's the one I found as well.. the 30
song, 24 track version. i'd have to agree with previous
comments.. Forest Moon is gorgeous. Good lord. Finity is
great too.. nevermind. they're all good.

Hell yeah. The naughty guy that leaked it needs a good
spanking, but we're angels. And it's definitely some good
stuff, I like some of the tracks more than portions of
Geogaddi.

I downloade some songs that were called that, a few old
tunes or whatever, but I don't think they were the right
ones... if they were well my opinion is that most of em
sucked, and the rest were real good...
