I actually have no self confidence

offline Murray from Southend, Essex (United Kingdom) on 2003-10-12 05:19 [#00899212]
Points: 4891 Status: Lurker

If people are just gonna reply with "typical teenage talk"
then you can fuck right off

I actually have no self confidence in myself now. My ego
suffered a big blow a few weeks back and since then i
actually dont think much of myself. I didn't really think
that much of myself before but now i actually am starting to
dislike who i am.

I can't imagine me doing well in college, or with my music,
and im hardly having any fun at all recently. My best friend
hasn't contacted me in ages and when i contact him hes
always busy.

I just feel really shit, anyone else feeling this?

i know what you mean im 23 and i still feel shit about me
i kind ground it into myself when i was younger and never
came back, i just learn to live with it

but on a plus side not believing your tunes is a good thing
cause you will try for more (at least thats what ive found)

I felt like this about a year ago, I'm more than happy now,

last year I was living at a university, hardly able to pay
rent let alone eat, working in a dead end job, and going
nowhere in life, I actually felt like I was a useless
person, not becuase I was, but because of my situation

now I have a kick arse job, my own kick arse place, and I'm
going places now (like, I have a trip planned to another
state next week) and I feel like a better person just
becuase of my accomplishments

sorry if this sounds all "typical teenage talk",

with any luck, things for you will get better and better
like they did with me

Chin up mate- Warp Halloween rave to look forwards to!

Is it something you did that has damaged your ego? Or is it
something someone else did?

i think a lot of people are feeling pretty shite at the
moment.

i know i am. i broke up with my bf of 7 months last night.
it was a mutual decision and for the best etc etc but i wish
it didn't hurt this much.
have been trying to sort out ucas stuff too, which just is
one big stress. i'm so behind with my work. aargh.

telica isn't a happy girl right now.

Your just tired Murray. Relax. Take a break from the comp
for an entire week and drink a lot of water. Lay down and
try to RELAX for a bit.

Stop wearing yourself out...

i agree, i find it's better to keep busy. i know all the
psychologists reckon it's better to confront it rather than
pushing it to the back of your mind, but sometimes it's
better to just get on with things and deal with stuff when
your ready.

I cant even begin to describe how much I felt like you did.
I was very lucky in that a person sorta spontaneously
appeared and brought love and meaning into my life. Perhaps
you just need someone to really love you. Im not sure if
youre already in a relationship or not, but for me, thats
all I needed.

'I can't imagine my doing well' sorry;)
Don't masturbate it's depressing.
Drinking lots of water is a good thing.
What are you doing at the moment? I mean do have any
occupation you can totally drive into and focus on. I hear
that's supposed to help. Cheer up things will work out I'm
sure. :)

telica: yeah UCAS is a royal pain in the arse. Good Luck!
Where are you applying? to do what?

Get something pierced - allways cheers me up , i was just
pissed off this morning and last night as you know - just
pierced my ear and you should see the grin on my face.

Again, i wish it was that simple, the person who actually
really hurt me was a girl who was really REALLY interested
in me and then she just blanked me for a week without any
say and just totally lost interest in me.

It's like she can't even be arsed to talk to me, and it
hurts cause i was really into her and i thought it was gonna
work. thats what i get for wearing my heart on my sleeve i
suppose

Murray-I dont know if ive told u this before but from what u
tell me and someone elses opinion on her she seems like an
immature bitch with petty issues.Really , you're worth much
more. and you should know it 'cause everyone else asides
phsyco girl does...

i'm applying to oxford, york, durham, warwick, exeter &
bristol to do philosophy and politics.

It's all far more stressful that i imagined. And the ucas
online application thing is absolute wank - it lost my
personal statement twice. i was almost in tears by the time
i'd clicked 'send'.

heh I remember this all too well although in my day we
didn't do online so we didn't get the wonderful
website-cock-up-results-in-total-application-loss issues!
*feels old*. Did you visit them all? I applied to Warwick
and Durham but they both seemed too damn depressing!
Bristol's nice, I have a second cousin who works in
administration there.

Hey cool, my bro's (MistahKurtz @ XLT)doing philosophy at
UCL. At first it was pretty standard introductory stuff but
apparently it's really interesting now that's he's hit the
second year. Is your's 50/50 or more politically oriented?

Anyways, hope you get your first choice eventually.

Anon - i know, but it still hurts as i have to see her
everyday and watch her enjoying herself with other company
and not really giving a shit about me.

I think i may stop masturbating soon, it's such a let down
and so depressing, and its sad.

funny because the ancient egyptians (or at all least of
