during surgery

When I'm at work, I often have to go to the toilet to take
a whiz. And that's cool and all, but what about doctors who
are in the middle of a critical surgery, and they feel that
they really have to "go". It's not like they can just "ah,
fack, brb, need to whiz'n'shit", and just step out of the
OR.

Perhaps they just let it flow right then and there, like
I've seen those pro cyclists do. They just yank it out while
cycling and let it flow, like, say hello to mister happy.
Or, when they have to poo, they stick their hand in the back
of their shorts and lay a good one there and throw it away.

I wonder, I truly do. How do the doctors solve that issue??

well, my mom is a surgeon... actually, i can say it's not a
big deal for them to control themselves during surgeries,
especially cosidering that they are somewhat special
people... and when it comes to a critical surgery, they tend
to be so absorbed with their work that any irritant seems
almost nothing to them.
my mom once even managed to do a complex surgery having
terrible backbone pain attacks, and this is way more serious
than these things you are talking about...

These people usually have several experts on hand anyway, so
I'm sure that if they were 'that' desperate other one of the
team could temporary take over for a few minutes.

Letting it just go would defeat all those protective things
they wear. Listen to the guy with the surgeon mom :)

Tallyho, is it true coal mine workers made more money than
surgeons during the Soviet era? This is one of those Soviet
era urban legends, any truth to it?

Paco, would you please check my profile (you'll get the idea
why i ask you..) ;P

answering your question: yes, that's partly true... and it
still tends to be this way, sadly. Russia is a country of
stupid paradoxes :(
