I say my wife but it is my girlfriend and I just found out that last night she got arrested for racist behaviour. Apparently she got into a fight with another girl and this girls black boyfriend got involved. My girlfriend apparently started hitting him and calling him racist terms. So now not only is she an alcoholic she is also a racist...I dunno why I put up with her... |

Pauls thread is no laughing matter...One of my best friends was involved in an abusive relationship but I felt helpless to do anything for her. If I went and twatted the lad he would have just took it out on her and the police are fucking useless in those situations. The reason I didn't write anything in the other thread is because I had nothing really constructive to say because if I was in that situation I wouldn't have a clue what to do for the best. |

I went through a bad time around last Christmas, and she was their for me, so I am gonna be here for her. I wouldn't say I went through depression but I had a total loss of confidence and wasn't doing much with myself. She reminded me what it was like to be happy again, I wasn't going out with her at the time, and yet she did more for me, spent more quality time with me than anyone else I knew or know. Apart from the drinking which has gotten to a fucking stupid stage she is the best person alive. |

Ah. Ok then I was in exactly the same situation + depression over christmas too so I know exactly where you're coming from. My girlfriend saw me through it and likewise I intend to be there for her. |

I dunno...she isn't a nasty person, and when she is drunk and gets upset she struggles to find words so it could just be purely through frustration. It is the drinking I am bothered about more than anything, it is getting to the stage where I am going to have to get her help, but she still doesn't think she has a real problem despite waking up with her hair covered in her own vomit. I just try and keep smiling but it is hard. |
