So I want to get one of them laptops and play them shows,
but I'm not quite sure what I'd need.

I make tracks on my PC, so I'm assuming I could just save
them as .wav's and open the .wav's on an ibook like it ain't
no thang, but would that result in shitty quality? What
would be a way to transfer with tops quality?

I'm planning on getting around a $1000 ibook, would this
suffice? I'm not going to use the thang to produce much,
just to play. What would you guys suggest?

Thanks xltronic crew!

i got an HP ze4400 laptop for about $1300. i never threw any
gigs with it, but as far as personal use it has generally
served me well since the day i bought it.

In photos of shows, I've seen both Squarepusher and AFX
using VAIOs

you picked a bad time to ask - bump this when there are more
music people around

I use a PowerBook. It does me right.

Not one of the new ones... no OS 9 on them, and I've got
apps stuck in 1984... TiBooks, the last generation, are very
solid and mature products.

Thanks, Pachi. Sorry about that.
