..next step?

would be nice, when the US gets into another righteous scrap
- send Arnie over there "JOE HAF BEAN TURMINATUT".

in the meantime, will he win this election to become
governor?

He can't run for President because he wasn't born in the
U.S.

Map is correct. Only native-born can run for federal
offices.

Ahnuld should win tonight. Davis and the Democrats in Cali
can't overcome a huge turnout of apathetic voters who have
had enough of the state's bungling government...

Time to let the Republicans bumble, stumble and fumble their
way through...

;)

Yea, thank god he wasn't born in the US... or we'd be in
even more trouble.

i actually hope he wins, it'll just make the perfect ending
to a perfect day...being very sarcastic.

get it back on its feet...

same situation here. they are all figureheads.

Jesse Ventura. Thing is...he was politically independent and
not liked by either Republican or Democratic
politicians....Ah-nuld at least has mostly party backing in
this case...

its pretty pathetic though how simply the fact that you are
a celebrity will get you elected.. i believe k_maty is
speaking of jesse ventura elected gov here in minnesota?

True. But name value carries much weight with our
"politically-ignorant" voting body...

imo, jesse ventura was a disaster for minnesota. he called
public education a "black hole." he stated publically that
people of faith are "weak minded" (admittedly there are some
here who share this opinion). he was happy with the press
only when they agreed to serve his interests. he behaved
like a self serving egotist with a thin skin. he used an
unwise tax refund as a cheap ploy for political points
(where have i heard that before) and left the state budget
vulnerable when the economic boom waned after 9/11, then
bailed when he realized he could not be reelected, leaving
the next governor to pick up the pieces, and providing an
excuse for the new republican to slash public education and
social welfare programs.

i think gray davis was already elected, and allowing
republicans to use a law intended to allow the recall of a
governor who commits crimes to subvert that election is a
terrible precedent for california.

arnold schwarzenegger may have many resources and
connections, but they are resources that serve the interests
of the tiny elite minority. i grew up in california, so i
am sad to see the people of california on the brink of
making a mistake of historic proportion.

Like they did with Gray Davis?

my favorite quote from gray davis is "the governor gets a
lot more credit than he deserves when things are going well,
and more criticism than he deserves when things go badly."
he's been made the scapegoat for all of the state's
problems.

if you want to blame gray davis for california's problems,
then you should equally blame the republican leadership in
the legislature. the answer to california's problems is not
in starting a recall effort within months of the election,
and electing a celebrity.

unless you are being glib, in which case : P

True. But the face on the problems of California is always
the leader, not the followers (or dissenters), and that face
is Gray Davis'.

He got whacked. Time will tell whether he was the disease or
a scapegoat...

Good night.

awesome. They're all awesome, futuristic science fiction
action. Well that terminator thing might not be fiction.
