Autechre - i love 'Amber' and the 'Anti EP'...
they're the most melodic, easier to get into, and my
favourite. 'Confield' is harder to get into, but great in
its way too.

Boredoms - i have 'Super æ' (ae? ar? are?), i'd
recommend it! it's more psychedelic than their earlier work
from what i've heard... it is a lot varied, sometimes
screaming, sometimes almost traditional music, sometimes
rock, sometimes beautiful, sometimes something
boards-of-canada-esque (but better)...

Coil - aaah!! too much things to recommend!! XD
what do you already have by them? : )
(you can see my CD list with commentaries to see what
i think of each release i have by them at the moment... if
you're not afraid of getting blind with the background
colours ^^)

Godspeed You Black Emperor! - "f#a#infinity" is
really sad and depressing but very good. "slow riot for new
zero kanada" is better but too short (28 minutes for two
tracks which form in fact one only big one)

Merzbow - 'Dharma' is my favourite. but maybe 'Frog+'
is better, from what i've heard (and the sound samples i've
listened) it's a very very good one - i couldn't find it
though...

Sonic Youth - 'A Thousand Leaves' is my favourite.
'Dirty' is excellent in another way too (more rock, less
"weird"). 'Washing Machine' is good but more of a mixed bag,
some of the vocals are really irritating you have to get
used to them. 'Murray Street' is good but very classic and
tame. - also if you like experimental stuff (you do, don't
you? : )), try giving a listen to some of the SYR series...

(err, i haven't described A Thousand Leaves... but... i
can't ^^ i just can't find a way to describe it!)

~ be sure to check Nurse With Wound if you haven't already
done so! (i don't remember and the search engine doesn't
work with it)

and you can check The Young Gods if you want ('Only
Heaven'), i'd recommend this to anyone. : )

Autechre - Draft 7.30 if you want their more abstract
brilliance yet still not too challenging to get into, or
Amber if you want smoother stuff. (Every one of their albums
is brilliant)

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - All their albums are
incredible. Start of with the newest one (Yanqui U.X.O) but
get it on vinyl if you have a turntable. Also, Lift Your
Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven is stellar.

Silver Mt. Zion - Get the new one (This is our Punk Rock)
but be aware that his vocals are very grating, but he gets
away with it because he sounds so heartfelt and genuine.
You have to be open to that idea to get into this album. If
not, get Born Into Trouble...

You might want to consider: Mogwai - Happy Songs for Happy
People; Hood - Cold House; Do Make Say Think - Winter Hymn
Country Hymn Secret Hymn.

But leave Sigur Ros on the shelves. Boring and annoying,
IMO. Hope-landic? Come on!

pantalaimon > ok... if you want to have something different
by Coil, i'd recommend you "Time Machines" (four long drone
ambient pieces, having drug formulas as names - perfect for
night music, trance/meditation... i never tried them on
drugs btw ; )); "Horse Rotorvator" or "Scatology" for
earlier 80's industrial side of Coil (easier to get also); -
- - and if you want more like "Black Light District", try
"Astral Disaster"...

also, if you do not have it, download "The Remote Viewer"!
there is zero chance of finding it on stores, there were
only 500 CD-R copies sold at tours... but if you have
soulseek (i don't), i think you should find it... i had
found it on audiogalaxy some years ago...
