im aware people already posted praising this album - but i feel it necessary to start a thread with stable-minded music fans who feels as i do, that the new outkast album could only serve one purpose - as a coaster
"hey ya" - is the ONLY...thats right...ONLY good song on there
the whole idea of being "experimental" crippled this album - so did having to listen to one guy at a time - andre's singing is about as cool as being shot in the face
in short - what the fuck? - these are the guys who made ATLIENS for shits sake, and aquamini, and frycking stankonia - the new album has to be a joke...or the result of a lost bet
(cries while he holds his atliens lp and rocks himself to sleep)

I respectfully disagree. I feel that all of "The Love Below" is exceptional. (yes, i know i liked speakerboxxx before, but i changed my mind).

ok, the biggest hater when it comes to hip-hop albums. i mean literally this muthafucka has talked shit in every single hip-hop thread i've started in the last 12 months, all for what many people consider brilliant albums. it's one thing to just disagree; that's fine. but he takes the most egotistical, infinitely closeminded attitude about it.

it's good for certain people. i think it helps to have some familiarity with where they're coming from, the place and the time. i mean this is if you're talking about the first album. i'm not sure how anyone who likes the new stuff could not like ATLiens. it's a pretty deep and ka-razy album.

i prefer to take each album on its own terms, as comparisons to past works are completely pointless (case in point: whats up with kid a not being the bends???). it doesn't do you or the artist any good because that isn't the headspace they currently inhabit.
in saying this, i'd also like to add that the new outkast album, from what i've heard of it, is excellent.

i'm really glad people are feeling andre's album i just hope people don't neglect speakerboxxx because andre's is SO good.. speakerboxxx is a perfect evolution from stankonia although of course outkast isn't the same hip-hopwise w/o andre.

im kinda skeptical on that note.
i mean, dont get me wrong... big boi can rap. but... hmmm... i'm just kinda skeptical on whether or not he can tear it up on his own. it seems like he kinda need dre there to keep it fresh. i dont know, maybe i'm full of it... i'm slowly convincing myself to dl the thing.
