Sanguine vs. Drill: Round 2

So all last night instead of sleeping so I can go to class
this morning, I worked on a track. This is pretty typical of
the stuff I've been working on lately, so I thought I'd post
something up for you guys. My second Drill track after
Wendigo, and much, much better in my opinion

Lightning Bug

And of course my little web page here with some
older tracks in case you missed out

Comments appreciated, and as always, I'd be happy to give
comments to anyone else's music, hopefully something before
I have to head to class

It sounds as though you have lifted tons of samples from
Drukqs....the beat and everything remind me of sections of
Drukqs.

Not a single sample from RDJ, although it was definitly
influenced

I guess I'll elaborate a bit...

The drum style, RDJ influenced obviously, is something I've
never been able to do. Compare this to my last Drill track,
you'll see the difference, working on specific parts of my
drum programming, cleanliness of the bass line and getting
things brought out that I want people to hear and trying to
spread out my lines a bit more so it's easier to pick out
parts

I think a lot of my music for a while is going to sound
ripped off... I'm not too worried, T.S. Eliot said "Immature
poets imitate, mature poets steal." I'm trying to add my own
flair to a style already done, and develop it a bit more

Hope that makes sense... bleh... I'm exhausted

i'm really impressed

the start of the bit that starts roughly at 4:00 reminds me
of a Curtis Chip song, and at first I thought you sampled
it

not entirely sure it's Curtis Chip

This is a nice track, i like the breaks and stuff it is very
rdj as we have all established but i think you hsve done a
good job, i really liked the bit with the vocals.

hey nice track.
it reminds me of FSOL vaguely. probably because of the
female vocal chant samples and the use of reverb. i didn't
really like the melody that kicks in at 3 min mark but other
than that i thought it was good. good booty shaker.

quality production man.

nice

but yeah... very very RDJ. You even do a Come to Daddy
thing... where towards the end of the track, it drops in
volume, and cuts the low end, then slams back in.

Ill be interested in seeing your own style develop, you have
lots of potential!

Some of my other recent stuff is more... well... original...
I guess. I'll probably post when I have enough tracks and
bandwidth to host a full album

well, now. it is rather delicious, isn't it? nicely,
done. though i have to agree, i think...about the melody
that comes in around 3:00...it does sound a little off, but
it still works, certainly. those airy vocal things =
happies. i enjoyed it quite a bit.

and after having another listen to wendigo (i have a number
of other tasty tracks from you lyin' around here)...hmm. if
you put the beats from lightning bug with the melody from
wendigo...you'd have a fucking masterpiece (although as it
stands...i think i like wendigo better, actually).
anyways...keep throwin' 'em down, guy-o. =]

Definitly working the drums more right now than my melodies,
it will all come together soon... oh yes *evil cackle*

Thanks for the comments so far!

Shameless little bump... I decided to remix it, clean up the
drums, add some better melodies I was throwing around today,
and make it more worthy of an Aphex vibe

Well, working on remixing it... gimme a couple weeks and
it'll be up again
