what exactly do they do?

someone recommended me a track a long itme go, and it was
some girl singing over acoustic guitar, and the I think I
heard someone else say they did drum and bass, so I really
am confused, I wasn't a big fan of the track I downloaded
though, didn't seem like there was much to it :\

Download the first album for an idea of what they're like,
it's great. Then buy it.

The albums have got progressively less good (at least I
think so), but there's still tracks on the newest one to
make it worth a listen. But the first one really is
excellent. Try "Lusty" and "Trans Fatty Acid". The one
Refund heard is probably either Gorecki or Zero. The gentler
side of the first album.

Yeah, it's been, what, 2 or 3 years since What Sound? I
could definitely go for some new Lamb.

Fear of Fours is my favorite, but there's no clear winner
for me... they're pretty close in quality, all of them.

i bought the first album cos I heard it was good... couldn't
really get into it so I sold it. Then I got into Portishead
*much* better than Lamb imo.

I'd like Lamb a lot more if the singer stopped trying to
cultivate that weird, nasal, melodramatic tone, and just
used her natural voice. Sounds like she's trying to imitate
Beth Gibbons of Portishead (who also sounds much better when
she sings naturally).

On earlier albums she (of Lamb) just sang through the nose
occasionally for effect (b-line, etc), and that was fine,
but on 'What Sound' it's gone out of control. Shame. When
will people learn to use their noses responsibly?

i hate to say it... but the vast majority of trip-hop acts
(or what were known back in the day as trip-hop acts) are
putting out a whole lot of bunk these days... unoriginal
sap, that sounds a lot more like "chill" than trip-hop...
but i know that Lamb was cool, at one point... who knows,
maybe they can break the bad streak... but, in truth, it's
Massive Attack, who i desperately hope get back on the horse
with their next album...

I hear Massive Attack is planning to collaborate with Tom
Waits.

If that can't shake them out of their rut, nothing will.

should set them straight...

faintest glimmer of hope that it would be to me. or about

I picked up a copy of the new album about a week ago.

It's pretty good (for what it is). It's not nearly as dark
as some of the stuff from fear of fours though. I wouldn't
exactly describe it as edgy...

That said, after a few listens it does grow on ya. It'd be a
good album to put on when your not in the mood for something
to taxing

their first album was great, the K&D remixes are great as
well. They kinda lost it after What Sound though - getting a
bit mainstream for me and the releases started sounding very
similar as well... boooh!!

the new one sucks, i have it. buy anything before the new
one and you won't regret it. the newest is way too soft for
my tastes, it seems that the girl had more influence over
the music than before.

then again, maybe i'm wrong.
