Finally got around to posting some new stuff at zebox:

A large triptych

Some other stuff

They're pretty big files (around 60-300k), but i'd be well
chuffed if anyone'd take a look and give me some feedback.

Wow some of those were amazing. I love the two with stencil
text on them, Inside You I like a lot as well. The Triptych
one is a little irritating on the eye because of the glare
from the camera flash... don't know if theres anything you
can do about that.

:D :D :D

Thanx guys.

Dannn_ > I was wondering about the camera flash myself, it
took 2 sets of pics, with and without. The non-flash ones
looked a bit dull, but i could probably sort that out in
photoshop, and it'd be easier than trying to remove the
glare... cheers for the input.

*grins from ear to ear*

J198 > Thanx man, what kind of stuff do you do? If you've
got any photos i'd love to see them. And i'm looking into
getting a proper site, but funds won't really allow it at
the mo (it all goes on canvas & paint :-)

scup_bucket > I've never titled a piece i've done... it
makes me feel kind of pretentious somehow, i want to let it
speak for itself. I might be getting an exhibition soon tho,
according to my art tutor i'll probably have to title them
up to sell them...

How big are they and what do you paint with and on and how
long do they take?

I mostly paint quite large (4-5 foot but triptych works out
at about 12 foot wide). Some of them are smaller tho, 1-2
foot. I use acrylic cos it dries nice n fast (oils dry too
slow), enamel spray paint, parker quink, tile adhesive,
bitumen, pva glue... anything i can get me hands on :-)

The smallest one (the reddish blobby one second from bottom)
there took the longest, about 35 hours cos i painted with a
tiny-ass brush very smoothly. Mind you, that was when i was
14, i've sped up since then. Most single-piece ones take 3-5
hours to do.

Yeah I did two paintings in oils last month and I've never
used it before, I didnt know it takes that long to dry. In
some ways it's handy to be able to blend colours in a
different way depending on how dry it is, but its mostly
very annoying.

I think it depends on how you paint... the little blobby
painting is in oils, and i needed it nice n wet to be able
to blend it like that. I paint quite thick generally though,
so i can't be arsed waiting for oils to dry for ages. A
frank auerbach painting stayed wet more than 15 YEARS he
painted it so thick :-O

15 years?! Sounds unlikely. I was going to say that blobby
red one looks like oils, I'm glad the blending I got was so
similar to yours, I felt a little inexperienced using oils.
