the video is sick, i can't believe anyone in there right mind would do these things... I read in the paper about them having their throats cut but didnt realise they were hung upside down moving along a beam towards a blade that cuts their throats one by one...

I used to keep chickens and I can say from experience that real free range hens make very large, tasty eggs. I have never had eggs as nice as our chickens made from stores. At least part of the reason is the definition of "free range" even supposedly organic, free range chickens often live in conditions not much better than those shown. I can't remember the exact area, but for a chicken to be able to be described as "free range" it only has to have something like 1 meter squared per chicken in space- it doesn't neccesarily have to live in normal, open air conditions...
Although it looks cruel, the beak clipping is nowhere near as bad as it looks and is not particularly stressful to the bird. Beaks are a similair par tof the body as fingernails in humans- they have no nerves in them and it doesn't hurt the bird provided it's not cut too short.
On the subject of the chicken's intelligence I believe that they're at least as intelligent as cats and dogs... if you keep them you recognise their personalities and they have a social heirachy more akin to apes or lions than say, hamsters and guinea pigs.
pantalaimon: No problem.

(i see your avatar as 404-red X, pantalaimon, is it normal? ' _ ')
animals are treated really cruelly today... also in battery farms or how do you call them in english - being locked with thousands and thousands of others, packt like sardines in a tin box with barely any room and no escape possible... this is just pure torture, they're forced to feed them lots and lots of calmants and other pills, otherwise they just go too mad because of the conditions they're in!! (and even with the pills... some still get mad and they kill each other...)

i won't read what you just wrote. you shouldn't read stuff like that. it takes all the magic away and ruins your appetite for good food. i don't want to know what they put in hot dogs, i only want to know that they taste good.

Recipe for hot dogs from on of the many MASS BUTCHER SHOPS in moncton.
Take ALL SPARE PARTS, toss into big industrial size blenders (This is all for real sadly enough) then blend till everything turns a grey color.
Then take the blood that has been collected from all the other dead shit and add it to the mush to give it the PINK color : )
Don't worry the end is near anyway , I can fucking sence it.

You mean actually in the yolk or linking the yolk to the white part? I've not seen that before... you can occasionaly get fertilised chicken eggs in normal boxes of eggs by accident... maybe it's some sort of stillborn?

Its just a little white thing attached to the yolk (The yolk is the yellow thing right?) and it is thread like. About 1-2cms big. I should take a picture : |

I hate KFC's chicken, you can practically drink it. it's so soaked in fat. I love the fries there, though. As long as they're not cruel to the potatoes, that's cool with me.

:D ahaha ahhh so funny.
B-A-N K-F-C B-A-N K-F-C!!!!
Yes, its horrible how treat those chickens, I almost shed a tear when they burned their beeks. i'm guessing they did that so they wont peck at the other chickens then have a hugh chicken fight. Chickens dont serve any purpose but being a resource for humans. But treating them with cruelty is wrong :( I'll pray for you chickens
