since i installed mcaffee firewall i get this message
'Blocked incoming TCP' like every
five minutes even if only the usual w2k stuff running.

does that mean someone is attempting to connect to my comp?
i'm not a network guy at all though

don't know about mcaffee... but, i think ZoneAlarm
gives you a little bit of information about incoming
requests. and it's free.

i used it on my win2k box, but, now i'm on linux so, i cant
be for sure how much info it gives you.

my mcaffee was free too, hehe
i can trace the request, some stuff comes from my provider
but half of it comes from chile or somewhere in the us

oh, whatever

Have you used Gnutella or another decentralized p2p network
recently? You'll get incoming connections for a long time
afterward - sometimes more than a month.

It's nothing to worry about as long as you keep your
firewall rules tight and are up to date with security
patches and so forth.

Load up zone alarm and check how much memory it takes up.
Scary stuff.
