Downloading mp3's ensures me that I never spend my money on nothing but quality music. The music I'm using my money on, is music that already gave me joy.
So what's wrong with that? I mean, I could as well freely have been borrowing the music in the local library, and then afterwards decided what to buy. With mp3's I can do that in the comfort of my home.
I think what really is stuck up RIAA's ass is the fact that the 'one-hit records' doesn't sell anymore, and that those records where they're major income when it came to selling music. This is the pop-industry talking. Now the music we hear is (in my case) the music that you never would have came in contact with if it wasn't for the piracy of music.
Yes I download mp3's
And yes I buy those worth the money spend

I can only speak for myself.
Though it could be cool if there was a permit that allowed you to download mp3's if you could prove that you used it to buy music too.
