Exhilirating...

aperson on 2001-11-13 21:39 [#00051629]

I just had an amazing experience last night...

I was on the verge of sleep listening to Autechre (cichli),
when suddenly something changed. I started listening to the
sound and realized they were creating 3d elements. I could
listen and I could actually picture in my mind fractals of
the sounds being formed. It was one of the greatest
experiences I've ever had in my life.

All without drugs too =]

halucination.

nececarily men you're a froot loop.

I was listening to Icct Hedral once, pretty close to sleep,
and I had an awesome experience... the music is errie
anyways, but at one point in the song it felt like I was
walking down this hall, and I suddenly fell down a
trapdoor... I had the breath sucked out of me and
everything... that was pretty cool!!! :)

Another time I was listening to Start as You Mean to go On,
and it sounded like a storm... It seemed just like I was in
the middle of a hurricane or something...

It seems that the effect that was mentioned above is almost
like a higher state of realization. One where you are
completely focused on the verge of falling into REM sleep.
One where for a short time you are completely aware. It also
seems to be that music like Aphex Twin and Autechre can help
harness thoughts to be placed inside your minds in a type of
hallucination, which in my mind is brilliance.

aperson: the only time someone falls into REM sleep is in
the end of the sleep cycle. first stage consists of alpha
waves, which peak high and are frequent. then there are beta
waves which are much more calm and are followed by gamma
waves, which aren't to wavy. after this, the fourth cycle is
achieved. then things are reversed, going then to the third,
second, and finally first. after the first, REM sleep is
possible. you can't fall into REM sleep right away.
