What the hell causes canker sores? you know, those random wounds in your mouth (no, its not herpes) Its fucking annoying. I got this one on the inside of my mouth, and the left, right where the jaw moves... I cant talk or anything without it stinging like fuck ahhhh anyone know of any remedies? |

It's a virus, very closely related to herpes. it just infects your mouth instead of genetalia. i actually haven't gotten them, but i hear like 70% of the world does. |

dude take a regular generic aspirin and put it on the canker when you go to sleep. in the morning if it stays in place it will be about 1/3 the size. repeat 2 nights until it is gone. |

use Peroxcil (sp?) it's an over the counter mouthwash, found in stores near the toothpaste etc. basically it's peroxcide for your mouth. it's the love - clears em up in a couple days. |

The first time I tried to quit smoking I use to chew on raw speghetti sticks (I know). Anyway after a week My mouth was full of them : | Listereen works well and gargling salt water. My doctor told me there is no known cure . . . I think thats bullshyte |

I've been getting those most of my life. It usually results from injuries or whatever, but the occassional unexplained one pops up, and fuck yeah they hurt. I just grin and bear it. |

i used to get them all the time when i was in college. stress is largely responsible for the occurance of them. it is caused by a kind of herpes virus so once you have it you will always have it. your immune system suppresses it but things like stress and diet that compromise the immune system can cause sores to appear. and there is no cure. not yet anyway. one thing that i used to do when i got them was to chew on them and get them bleeding. it hurt like a bitch but they usualy cleared up faster after that. i think it is the same principle as the asprin method, you get a lot of extra blood flowing to the area bringing more white cells which attack the virus etc.. |

as a side note: i hardly get them at all now that i have graduated and escaped the stress of school. when i was in school, there were times when i had at least one canker sore in my mouth continuously for months on end. one would clear up and i would get 2 more somewhere else in my mouth. so i truely believe if you avoid stress, you will avoid canker sores. |

no that herpes thing is something else: that's that you have a sore on your lip. in your mouth is something else i believe, and it's both got to do with lack of vitamins, also smoking kills vitamins, i believe |
