I can't get my "extended demo" of Nero to detect my NEC
ND1300 DVD-burner, so I need recommendations on
alternatives. Or, if you know how to make Nero detect it,
(the detection thingy says I have to install the Nero CD),
then that would help too.

Alcohol 120% is very nice, and pretty much free, if you
happen across it on any of several popular file sharing
networks.

I made a 4GB backup of files as a data DVD, but now my
DVD-Rom can't read the DVD. It just chews on it and pretty
much slows the whole PC down, until I pop the disc out. Is
there something else that needs to be done to the DVD?

(I found a free spyware app called burn4free or something
that I used.)
