i never ever ever hear anybody talk about these guys around
here. is there a reason for that? i'm not terribly familiar
with them, but i'd like to be. only heard bits and pieces
here and there over the years, but i really enjoy what i
heard.

and yeah, it's late and i should be in bed but i'm bored and
i can't sleep and i have nothing to do and i'm awake and i'm
here and it's cold in my basement and my fingers and getting
numb and that sucks. *sigh*

the two lone swordsmen are made up of Andy Weatherall and
Keith Tenniswood and the pair used to be called the sabres
of paradise i think, solo stuff from these guys plus sabres
of paradise stuff is always worth checking out, keith
tenniswood records under the name of radioactive man and i
have his two albums which are good. tiny reminders by tls is
an excellent album but also check out the e.p, a bag of blue
sparks, very very good but sometimes quite hard to get hold
of, they have a record labels too called r.g.c (rotters golf
club) and release a fair bit of electro thru this, hope this
helps

Weatherall produced Primal Scream's 'Sreamadelica' too.

Further Reminders was a compilation of remix's of stuff from
Tiny Reminders, however, it would be a wise move to stear
clear of this release at all costs imo

I saw TLS at the first dedbeat, they did a 5hr live/dj set!
What i saw was very good indeed, but i didnt last 'til the
end, they came on about 1am!

I've also seen Radioactive Man live, he is fucking superb,
go see him if at all possible! Both Wetherall & Tenniswood
are very good djs too.

I've got their first album, i forget the name, its a double
album, its not on warp. Pretty good though. Tiny Reminders
is great though.

My choices to check out would be Stay Down and Tiny
Reminders. They both are quite different from each other.
Stay Down is more melodic IDM while Tiny Reminders is full
of glitchy techno. Further Reminders (the remix of Tiny
Reminders) IS pretty disappointing.

I love the other incaration Sabres of Paradise Haunted
Dancehall which gets played all the time.

Try a hot chocolate or a camomile tea for insomnia.

Maybe the most ignored brains in electro, (of course the
glory's going to the bands courting pop success) nonetheless
capable of superb avant, dub - inflected downtempo.

Andrew Weatherall produced every cut on Screamadelica EXCEPT
Higher Than The Sun (which they handed over to The Orb!)

Fine company if you ask me...

Virus with Shoes is excellent but I didnt recommend it for
someone new to 2LS as its quite weird.

leftfield have a swords remix 12" with a wicked two lone
swordsman remix. from a few years back, infact all the mixes
are good, but the TLS one is very cool.
