what's even better is using both headphones and
speakers. you get a full head of music, and you also get
the gut bubbling bass from the speakers. it's the best.

i don't know.. i need the ambient sound of my surroundings
to cover up the ringing in my ears. unless noise
cancelation headphones can somehow cancel that out too.

I have a pair of Sennheisers, they give more of a true
perspective of sound without colouration like monitors. They
dont accentuate the sound & make it sound better than it
actually is, but you can hear stuff you couldn't hear
before.

I once heard about a headphone made by Sony that actually
uses an algae to create a super sound conducting membrane.
i don't know if they were commercially avalible though..
anyone else ever heard about these?

I just got small ear-plugs for my MP3-player. Sony
MDR-EX71SL. They've got these rubber pads on it and it goes
straight into your ear. They sound completely awesome for
such small plugs. They were rather expensive at 499 SEK
(about $45).

i've heard some of those made by koss (yep koss) and they
too were pretty fucking awsome. i think the critical
element is the rubber plugs shutting out external sound.
