Anyone hear the new Bjork album? I just bought it, and it's
pretty cool... I like it better then Homogenic already...

oh, and I was looking through the booklet, and she thanks a
guy named Thom Y (Thom Yorke obviously) but also a guy named
Richard J...

I love the way she has soaring string parts throughout...
it's a good mix of Homogenic and Selmasongs... beautiful
stuff...

did anyone see bj0rk @ the Ocean?

SweetStuff on 2001-11-12 19:19 [#00051129]

Bjork was playing in Italy over the weekend? Did she fly
over just for the Warp Rave?

seanc@seanc.co.uk from Lincolnshire on 2001-11-12 19:22 [#00051131]

i dont know if she was there.
ive seen her at previous WARP partys,
and i 'persumed' she would be at this one, with Mark Bell,
Plaid and Mira Calix (wasnt she bjorks keyboardist?)

i guess she was in italy then.

Sweetstuff on 2001-11-12 19:25 [#00051133]

I think it was Leila that played keyboards on Bjorks tours,
what did you think of Mira Calix' set? I missed it I came a
bit later...

seanc@seanc.co.uk from Lincolnshire on 2001-11-12 19:28 [#00051136]

correct, it was leila.

I entered the ocean as leila was DJ'ing..
missed Mira Calix :-(

did anyone manage to smoke a spliff in there without beeing
beheaded by the security?
and did anyone else manage to get hold of the powerfull drug
that the bar staff seem to have taken?

Sweetstuff on 2001-11-12 19:42 [#00051141]

No chance! The security was silly!

Well, for my ten cents, Bjork is the bombdiggy, baby! Apart
from RDJ and a few other "IDM" artists, she is just so far
ahead of the game it takes the piss. I suppose it's her
knack of knowing which producers to work with- Mark Bell,
Herbert, Matmos etc- but she definitely KNOWS, if you know
what I mean. The beats on the new album are wicked, although
it gets a bit samey after a few tracks.

I can't remember what it's called, but track 2 on Vespertine
is just the most beautiful, sensual song ever. It's like
lying in candyfloss getting sucked off by a koala.

yeah, cocoon is gorgeous, definitely one of the most
intimate songs ive heard..

Do you like Harm Of Will?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-13 03:29 [#00051308]

Aurora is gorgeous...

I'm listening to the album with headphones, and it's
awesome... I love it...

vespertine is an awesome album, i love it... i just dont
think it has the 'Ooomph' that Homogenic has...
