I always talk shit to people who complain about America,
but only from their armchairs. Especially sometimes people
on xlt, they dump on this country, but won't get out and try
and make things right.

To that spirit, my first op/ed piece is going to be printed
in the local newspaper this weekend.

It was a commententary about people being morons, and not
having any common sense. It has a zinger of an ending about
this being a wealthy area, but local action shows you can't
by common sense.

Anyway, I want to encourage everyone who is passionate about
things to get out there and make a difference. Sitting here
chatting is one thing, but educating others, sharing ideas,
exchanging ideals is the way to make things better.

only counts for being proactive if you do her loud enough
where the neighbors hear.

as long as you make other people know your best and worst
intentions, there isn't any fire you can't face.

never mind, everyone just bitch to one another, that solves
everything.

Yeah it's the newest cool thing to do to bitch about
america. I don't like a lot of shit that goes on but I
refuse to bitch about it loudly to others.
It's just negative and doesn't actually solve anything.

od: good for you, that is kind of my point, if you are just
going to sit and bitch, I'd rather not listen.

I hope some of you are convinced you can make a difference
somehow.....

Its not your fault Echo, I support you in your fight on
stupidity.

Im pretty sure the people you want to reach dont read, maybe
you should have a commercial of a naked chick douching
herself during a football game with the words "HEY STUPID
KILL YOURSELF" blinking at the top of the screen.

I started a rumor in my town that listening to Eminem causes
cancer...

Your country is alright , you just got some dumb voters : \

well said, but I think there are more than SOME dumb
voters.

the majority are morons, plain and simple. and that is ok,
if the people in office didn't take advantage of that fact.

we need to have a person with integrity, who does the right
thing no matter what, and a more educated, common sense
derived voter pool.

I'm out to change both of those, and while I'm starting
small, I've got to start somewhere.

me should do?

I think a war on stupidity should be started and people
should be informed so we have real choices.

like I said, I don't care what your politic views are, in
this case I am making a general statment that people should
DO SOMETHING about them.

if you want to change things, go out and change them. I
don't give any credit to people who complain while sitting
in front of the tele.

Get out there, raise awarness, get the facts heard, and make
a big deal out of something that most people don't
understand.

That's what you should do.

i don't mind talking politics and such here, my problem is
with people who complain about how things are in the world,
but don't do anything BUT complain.

if you guys are out there hitting the streets, talking to
people not just on the internet, writing your leaders, then
I have no beef with you.

If you are in your chair, talking shit withoutm doing
anything, then that is officially lame ass.

so, my letter made it into todays edition (saturday)

It was short and too the point, and I like it, but it kinda
fell flat. I think I pumped it up too much in my head, it
was too short to make a super strong point.

Anyway, I am only more inclined to write further to my local
institutions, improve my skills, and campaign further into
the hearts of many.

Email and phone calls can be just as effective although
talking to people who are passionate about a cause as
yourself can be an empowering experince as can making a
complaint to mangement.

I have written to my Prime Minister...

Created Flash and Powerpoint presentations that include
images that present my views to an audience of my peers.

Joined email lists of groups that have the same views as my
own that I have met on the street.

I have complained via phone to the Editor of a magazine that
he was showing prejudice by choosing to print on a regular
basis views of bigots and racists and not including letters
from people retracting the bigotted claims.

If I think a corporations policy is disadvantaging people I
write through to the manager demanding change, checking
consumer laws.

I see no reason however not to criticize American foreign
policy as it has far reaching effects on others living in
other countries who have to live with it.

moveon.org

However I get fedup with dealing with imbeciles on the phone
and as if late I have been taking a break as its plain
stressful at times and people are stupid...

whoa, that is awesome. I'm glad to hear that you are out
being active with regards to your beliefs.

--------
again, I don't think people should not share, or fight or
flame, I simply have a problem when they ONLY do it from the
seat of their pants onto a messageboard.

Complaining is lame when it isn't backed up by action.

some people i'd rather have sit around complaining; at least
i know they aren't changing things for the worse with their
stupidity and bigotry. some people.
also, talking on forums is somewhat productive as it
may enlighten others to new, less biased, views.
but i know exactly what you mean. i am currently
taking a class on american government and its very annoying.
everyday we come to a conclusion that some law is stupid or
unjust and should be thrown out, then graze over to another
topic and forget the other one.
