best bjork album? methinks. its got that nice chilly feel to it that goes well with winter.
its also made me realize what a genius bjork is as a songwriter. just some amazing sounds and melodies on here. plus the live versions of the songs, especially where a deck of cards is used and sampled, are on par with the album itself.

hey electro (i know you'll read this), who do you think would make a stranger collaborator, miss kittin (bjork's wish) or the neptunes (the neptunes' wish)?

not enough percussion? IMO this is her most percussion-dominated album, it's just that it's out of the ordinary percussion (not big crashing beats like on homogenic especially).

nah, it's definitely not percussion-dominated... there might be a lot of percussion, but it's definitely more subtle then Homogenic...
I've been listening to this album a lot lately, and yes, I love it... it's my favorite Bjork album, and my favorite track is Aurora...
and yes, it does have this wintery feel... always reminds me of Christmas, and so you know, that never hurts...

of course it's subtler but there's a major emphasis on the beats (think idm).
i don't think the neptunes are a good fit for bjork, not only musically (too generically programmed) but also personality-wise. bjork writes and performs her own music while the neptunes basically just make tracks and pharrell comes up with a chorus and then they present it to the artist. i mean, true, bjork has sung over preexisting tracks by LFO and ensemble, but she might be put off by the neptunes work ethic (bjork's a true producer, the neptunes are basically just musicians and programmers). but if the collaboration did go down, whether bjork was involved in the music composing and performing process or not, i bet it'd be like an updated "big time sensuality." just a huge club banger that would be extremely popular. i really doubt the neptunes would go all N.E.R.D. on bjork, i think they'd stick to catchy programmed beats, if bjork were willing to just be (perhaps the world's most talented and expressive) pop singer.

I really have to say, I don't think the neptunes are anything special at all... their songs annoy me to no end, and that stupid Pharrel guy who can't sing needs to shut-up before I put my fist through my tv as I try to punch him in the face... his stupid high pitched attempt at singing is like nails on a chalk board... I really don't see what all the fuss is about them... I quite often see The Neptunes and Timbalind mentioned together, and while Timbalind is quite good at producing music, I think The Neptunes are among the most annoying out there today... just my opinions of course, so don't anyone attack me here...

i expect them to do a telegram kinda remix the song constrcton for bjork now is getting more and more complex

the collaboration with the neptunes would be a nice thing imo. despite the reigning oppinion here that the neptunes are shit i like what they do. kinda fresh blood to pop music. i think it'll be a nice collab because it's impossible to predict what would come out in the end. would be quite a surprise.

It's impossible for me to pick a favorite Bjork album because each album is so different from the others. But Vespertine is the album that got me hooked on her. "Unison," "Frosti," "It's Not Up to You" were the tracks from her I first fell in love with.
